Kinesiology itself might not get you far, but do that and/or get into a Doctorate program for Physical Therapy or any other concentration of Movement Science/Kinesiology and you could have a solid career.

Yes.
Are you saying going to grad school to get your Doctorate in other concentrations would not get you money either?
With either one you are able to work for teams, schools, events, etc.

I'm a kinesiology major in my sophomore year. Not sure what I want to do, but if I don't end up making my salary through MMA, I'd like to move on to grad school and do something like physical therapy.

My current job while in school is as a personal trainer. I'm going to become a history teacher/coach with my degree. I won't be the richest person in the world, but I will love my job, plus the time off will give me time to continue my job as a personal trainer and train mma. So, while the money won't buy my happiness, at least I will have a lifestyle I will continue to enjoy.

I will be there with ya in a couple years. But like he said above me, you'll be in a job you love. And with that doctorate you shouldn't have too much a problem keeping it.

Ahh Kenny's the ****! My main gym is the Boneyard, which is owned by Mike Littlefield. He's a longtime friend and sort of student of KenFlo. As a school we're pretty tight with the gyms Kenny trains at - we're welcome at Boston BJJ and Sityodtong since our two main coaches were regulars there.

Its not the degree, its the person who holds it....imo. You could also look at going into a physicians assistant program after you get your undergrad as well.

I'm a 5th year KIN major in exercise science and biological sciences. I plan on going to chiropractic college next year and getting my DOC, I am already certified ACSM personal training. Hopefully I will be certified in nutrition, dietetics and massage therapy.
There are plenty of options for KIN majors, not necc. out of college (except in a clinical setting) ask your advisor and professors to seek out all possible options.

^^whats the difference between someone just getting a standard undergrad and someone wanting to pursue a doctorate in phys therapy or something? Extra courses in the curriculum?

Are you talking about an undergrad in KIN and a grad in PT? If so, then you narrow your area of specialty down quit drastically to specifically just PT. And of course there are extra classes as for pursueing any doctorate degree. The main difference is the supply and demand for doctorate grad students over grad students with a BS.

I think there is a way you can get an undergrad in physical therapy, but from what I understand grad (not med) school has become pretty standard for PT's. Like most things you go to grad or med school for, what you go to undergrad for isn't necessarily all that important; there are philosophy undergrads who end up getting into law school for example.
And yeah, I would assume there are more courses; there's just things in grad school that can't be covered in the undergrad years. Plus I'm pretty sure you do a lot of field work.

undergrad in pt is reffered to as majoring in KIN specializing in EITHER pre-PT or PT (depending on your university).

Haha wow, that awesome! I chose kinesiology as a major since in the description it said it had the best carryover to physical therapy, I didn't realize it was an actual undergrad phys. therapy program. Thanks man!

I majored in Kinesiology with a minor in Dietetics. I worked at a Corporate fitness center as a Exercise Specialist for about a year. It was fun but didn't pay what I would have liked it to. I got lucky and got hired on with a good company as a Loan Officer. I searched for jobs for a while and found that some places just need you to have the Bachelors degree then the company will train and school you at their cost. The key is to get the interview then prepare for it. Good luck.
