Shoulder, Tri, Ab day
My left anterior delt attachment was not feeling good today. I ended up bailing on the DB shoulder press early. I think my unsteadyness on the incline BB press might be the original source of the problem. I'll ease into both exersices next week to be safe.
My diet and water consumption is still on track. Weighed in again today at 209lbs, so it was not a fluke low reading yesterday. : )
DB Shoulder Press: 8X55 - 8X65 - 0X70 - 3X65
Lat Raises: 8X25 - 6X30 - 6X30
DB Rear Delt Raise: 8X30 - 6X35 - 6X35
Tricep Pushdown: 8X100 - 8X110 - 6X120 - 6X120
DB Skull Crushers: 8X70 - 8X80 - 6X90 - 6X90
One Arm DB Extension: 8X30 - 8X30 - 8X30
Nautilus Crunch Machine: 8X240 - 8X250 - 8X250
Hanging Knee Raises: 3X12

My friends have a bit of cash. They own a Structural Engineering company.
Their response. "It's a Sterns and Foster from Sears. it was the most expensive Firm bed they had at the time ...around 2K". That is more than I would probably spend on a mattress.

I am no expert on kangaroo but the kangaroo you buy in the shops is the farmed variety, so not the wild versions, Yes in some country areas kangaroo is a problem and farmers go out with a shotgun. I wouldnt put them in the same legue as a rat. I must admit that you have to cook it just right. Cook it too much and it dries up and tastes crap because there is not much fat in it. It tastes really good bbq'd There is a packaged version with some sort of garlic sauce which isn't too bad, but I just get the plain ones. I have not tried ostich.

I used Saturday for my rest day,..I was too tired of my back aching all the time! decided this would be the day we buy our new mattress boxspring set,..we went to Denver Mattress,..looking at the mattresses in stock and armed with the knowledge of what would fit our pref. we spotted the Simmons Beuty Rest. they wanted $1,800.00 for the set. After talking to the sales rep I told him to write down the deal on a piece of paper. I told him I was going to take the paper and compare it to other places selling the same thing,..about 10 paces to the exit door he stops us and stated he can take $600.00 off the price. I told him sounds pretty good but what about the 2 pillow/mattress cover and conditioning kit? (value of $300.00. He said he could throw that in too. I said great we may have a deal,..I asked him what time today can it be delivered,..he said Today? well it would have to be some time middle next week. I told him no no no,..I am looking for a mattress today and began to walk out,..this time one foot out the door our friendly salesman asks us to wait a minute,..after aprox. 10 min. of the waiting game we finalize the deal at $1,200.00 delivered same day,..oh and not to mention I declined to pay delivery costs as well,..hehe. Needless to say we had the best nights sleep ever and woke up with a regenerated back ready to take on the Gym!!!
Sunday Back routine!
50 X pull-ups BW, 15r, 15r, 10r, 10r
BBell row @225 x 6, 225 x 6
Dbell row @ 130 x 6, 120 x 8 (had to stack Dbells to do this) Laziebones will tell ya all about it I'm sure,..hehehe!
Extensions @ 45 plate 15r, 12r
I had to decline the drivers seat of my car before leaving the lot,..my back was screaming!!

Last night felt great!! Current weight is 182lbs
Hit chest and Biceps
Incline BBell
225 x 6r, 5r
Dbell flat press
100 x 9r,7r (will have to go to BBell bench,..nothing higher than 100's Dbells)
Dbell Decline
100 x 8r,6r (same w/this)
BBell curls
115 x 8r, 6r (tweaked my inner elbow)
Hammer Dbell
50 x 6r, (took it light after this,..tweaked elbow)
100 crunches!!!
This morning upon waking up I looked very conditioned especially being aprox. 15lbs over last competition weight. I have a strong feeling i may have put on a few lbs. of muscle,...we shall see,...I started a regiment of DHEA as of 2 weeks ago. Being almost 43yrs. I feel I need any boost I can get naturally to increase testosterone. I do feel I am behind biologically from others my age,..now real scientific proof on this,..but like said before i was alaways a late bloomer so i feel younger than my real age. (Benjamin Button here) hehe.

What would you guess your BF% is right now? What BF% do you try to get to for a competition?

I'm not sure,..I only have one method available to me for the last few months which was my BF monitoring scale,..which I have little reliability in,..I think I may be near 10% - 12% now. I think I was around 6-8% on competition,..I looked alot leaner due to vascularity,, ( a nice BB virtue to have,..hehe) but thats about it. I tend to drop my BF rapidly the last cpl weeks before the show.

You mentioned Arginine before. Do you think it helps bring out vascularity? I used to take it pre-workout and it gave me a huge pump.
I am taking NaNO Vapor pre-workout right now so I can get in on the MuscleTech/BB.com contest. MuscleTech is also running another contest for people using Hydroxycut. Top prize on that one is 100K. I am thinking of switching to Hydroxycut, after I run out of NaNO Vapor, so I can get in on that contest. If I do that, I think I will also pick up some "Now Arginine powder" for my pre-workout mix. It is what I used before. It is inexpensive. The hydroxycut would provide the caffeine bump and the Arginine would provide the NO bump.

My company firewall has the site blocked. You should be able to find it from here: http://www.muscletech.com/
If not, I can send the link Wednesday evening when I get home.

new week new goals!!
Morning guys, great workout last night, new PR on DB flat bench 95 x 3 I know I needed 4 to stay there, problem is I can do 8 of the 85 and we don?t have 90 DB ,
stay fit, I had a couple of question for you,
I watched a bb.com video last week that said not to do hammers because it brings up your forearms, taking away from the size of you biceps. The topic came up under a section on symmetry. What do you think?
Also im having a lot of pain when im doing curls I switched from Bar to the EZ bare for curls that did not help much, last night I switch to DBs much better! Is that OK?

I hear ya on the Dbell presses,..my gym goes from 90 - 100,..no 95's
As far as the hammers go,..I strongly urge you to stick with them,..They are meant to bring out the outer head of the Bicep Brachii,..which favors a BB physique during a rear dbl. bicep pose.
You can replace the Bbell curls with the Dbell curls.

Well,..got the belt today,..nothing special but thick enough to secure my back. I think it is made out of steel belted radial tire. Went to my Dr. and got my back snapped into place. After work went to the gym to pound out some legs! I met my training buddy and faced the challenge. These are the results.
Squats
405 x 2r (pr) they were a bit ugly but nice and deep, past the plane.
365 x 6r (very deep)
315 x 8r (very deep)
Dbell Lunges 65lb Dbells
Hack Squats
SLDL'
275 x 8r
275 x 6r
Hams!
Really hit the wheels hard!
Trainer just emailed me, Dorian Yates will be coming to the gym end of January for seminar,...My trainer designed my split around Dorians philosophy,..I think it willbe pretty cool to meet the legend!! I'll post a thread up in the prep section open to anyone who wants to come!

Nice. It has to be an ego boost to be able to squat with 4 plates on each side.

I was really scared before, loading the bar,..but lately I said Hell with it,..At 180lbs it does play in my mind a bit. Kinda neat having a couple people stop what they were doing to watch,..I cant wait til offseason,..this will become a regular event during legs while bulking!!!
I looked at myself in the mirror last night and tried to let out my gut and look soft for a possible before pic for the MT contest,..no way,..too lean,..It's all yours Jeff,..you could probably use $50,000.00 from the transforamation and another $100,000.00 on top of that from the other MT contest,..hehe,..just dont forget who your friends are,..hehehe

Looking too lean... That is an awful problem to have. I feel sorry for you. ; )
There are some people in the contest where the before pics look like they could be after pics. I think MuscleTech will really want to see an average looking person become cut, not an already lean bodybuilder become shredded. It is, after all, about advertising. There are far more average people to sell to than lean bodybuilders, so they will want to market to the average person. I hope I can fit the bill. But, I wouldn't mind going from average to shredded. : )

Supplements
For a while I had been taking fish oil, a multi, a B complex, Creatine, Phenylethylamine and Beta Alanine. I was also using NO-Xplode pre-workout.
I switched from NO-Xpload to MT NaNO Vapor for the MT transformation contest and dropped the beta alanine because the Vapor already has it. It is not bad, but I am going to switch to Hydroxycut for the other MT contest.
Vapor and Hydroxy both have a bit of caffeine, so I will not take both of them the same day. I am planning to take Hydroxy as directed, add Beta Alanine back in, and also take Phenylethlyamine and Arginine pre-workout.
Does this sound like a good plan?

Vapor and Hydroxy both have a bit of caffeine, so I will not take both of them the same day. I am planning to take Hydroxy as directed, add Beta Alanine back in, and also take Phenylethlyamine and Arginine pre-workout.
Does this sound like a good plan?
