Introduction
I've been reading through the Keto Logs for awhile now and, I was inspired to create one too. Although this is the first time doing a Keto Log, this isn't the first time that I've done a Keto Diet. Last year I dieted down under the Consultation of Dave Palumbo and dropped more than 20lbs - just in time for summer! I was extremely happy with my results and, pleasantly surprised by how easy the diet was to follow. And Yes, I became a Keto believer!
Well, summer has come and gone - it was filled with Good Friends, Good Food, and Good Times. And it shows! *lol*
Now that playtime is over.....
it's time to get back to business!
This year I will be dieting down under the Consultation of Danny Dettwiller; the man behind my diet, future modifications, and the training guidelines that will help me get down to 115lbs (-32lbs) by May 16th, 2009.
Currently
Today is the 12th day since the start of my Keto Diet and, I am already seeing visible results in the mirror. I am simply blown away by how quickly my body is responding to this particular diet and, I am extremely excited about the changes yet to come.

keto responds good to some people, so good for u ! unlike me, i used to lose like 2 lbs+ weekly on 40/40/20 protein carb fat. thats why i switched keto. but on keto , tmr will be 1 full week, still no 1 single lb loss. but at least no gain.
training is aweasome. & diet ingredients, u can find alot recieps and so here in the forum, so u can make ur food choices differ.
good luck reaching ur goals ! and dont let urself regain weight, just eat wat u want later but under maintance calories and do some daily cardio.

I just wanted to add last weeks video update into the Log from 1/3/09 since I forgot to add it to my original entry. Each week I will be updating my Log with -- an overview of my week, how my training went, weight/measurements, progress pics, as well as a video progress update.
I weight trained only twice last week but, I did get all of my cardio in; like a good girl. When saturday finally arrived, I was debating whether or not to carb up (treat meal) because, my girlfriend I were going to stay at one of the Hotels on Sunday - for a full day of pampering, relaxation, and fine dining. Well after two weeks without so much as a carrot, I couldn't resist any longer so....I ordered a Pizza, Opened a bottle of wine, and had ice cream for dessert. I must say, I know those carb up days are necessary but....Blaaahh, I felt like sh1+ afterwards. Yesterdays day at the spa was exactly what I needed - 4 hours of total bliss! Now, I'm refreshed....I'm ready to hit the gym hard this week!
As for my stats -- I am "extremely happy" with the way my body is responding to my diet. In the past two weeks I've only dropped 3.6lbs (which is perfectly fine) but, I dropped 1.5" off my waist and 1.5" from around my chest in two weeks! *I LOVE IT*

Video Progress Update
I just want those love handles to go away and, I want Abs this summer!
I asked bb.com customer service what was going on with the youtube videos and, I was told that they would try to fix it. I guess I just gotta wait until they do.

OMG Girl, I wish your ass would have been here yesterday - we had so much fun. You would have LOVED IT! It was head to toe pampering. My girlfriend took me to The Drift Spa at the Palms and we had Body wraps, full body massages, facials, and just chilled in the Spa like little Divas all day! *lol* When you come out to visit again we'll have to make it a plan to go together.
The Keto news is....
I'm down 3.6lbs from the start of my diet (12/26/08) and, I've dropped 1.5" off of my waist, as well as, from around my chest - just in the past two weeks! I'm extremely happy with that. And, I had my First Treat Meal on Saturday. My girlfriend had been planning our little getaway for quite awhile so, I indulged a bit last night too - with Creme Brulee'. *yummy*
I'm feeling lazy, craving sweets, and looking fluffy today! Dont'cha just love PMS?!
Well, it certainly had an effect on my workout this evening - I didn't have much "umph" to make it an intense workout.
I want to mention, it was not my intention to do 12+ damn reps for my first set of chest press. Some guy walked over and just HAD TO show me his favorite technique for this particular exercise so, I indulged his enthusiasm by giving it a try. I pressed it....one! He then says, "oh you should try it slower." ok, so I press out a few more in sloooow motion. Then he says, "now try pumping out a few fast reps at the end." By this time....I couldn't tell if he was just being social or, being a Shmoe! *lol*
I politely thanked him for the tip and got right back to my training.
It may have come across as cold that I didn't have much else to say. *but, oh well*
Brief Overview
My weight is up one pound from last week and, my measurements are up in a few areas too. BUT, my chest is down a quarter of an inch (0.25") this week so, I'm pretty happy to see that number dropping! Based on everything combined (weight, stats, and visually) there's a strong indication that my composition is changing and, I couldn't be happier or more excited about that.
Diet Overview
My diet this week was pretty good; with the exception of Sunday's dinner, when my girlfriend and I indulged on wine and, had creme brulee for dessert! *yummy* Btw, I did add a different element into my diet this week; Whey Protein. I am lactose intolerant and, yes, it is giving me tummy aches and bloating so, I may just stick solely to my egg protein from here on out; unless of course I get a bad craving for protein pancakes. ~ Only then would the pain be worth it!
Training Overview
* Full Body Workouts - M/W/F
* Cardio Everyday
As for my training, I hit the gym M/W/F and did Full Body Workouts. I did miss one session of cardio on Wednesday and, I missed one yesterday as well -- basically, my left knee has been giving me problems all week. Believe me, I really wanted to do my cardio, I even got on different cardio equipment to see if that helped; no matter what I did my knee just wasn't going to cooperate.

Thank you. I'm very happy with the changes; especially considering how Fluffy I am from PMS! Being surprised that I can see a difference through all the water weight just makes me more excited to see what I look like when the Fluffiness has gone down and I take Saturday's progress pics! *anxious*
As for my meals, I don't want to get into specifics for very meal because, it just wouldn't be fair to D.Dettwiller and his clients. But, I can show you what my diet consists of and how the Macros are broken down. Just keep in mind that the macros do vary slightly from day to day; a simple example being (for the newbies out there that might be reading this) - simply choosing cashews for one meal over macadamia nuts can alter my Carbs by 5g.

I am tired, bitchy, cramping, and working out was the farthest thing from my mind tonight. BUT, I knew deep down inside that I was perfectly capable of getting my training done; in spite of not being in the mood. My workout took a lot longer than usual but, I'm glad that I got it done.

That's about how I felt about yesterday's workout! Nothing like feeling bitchy and cramping during a workout. And you're right -- you did it -- and that's what's important.

Hello jecristragedy, Thanks for noticing. And yes, I encourage you and mygame to take progress pics regularly. I suggest that people do them weekly; others may suggest less often. I suggest weekly because (at least for me) it's one more thing that helps to keep me accountable and motivated towards making visible changes each week. Plus my trainer requires me to!
