See your doctor, you might need antibiotics.
And make sure that you blow your nose when you need to. You don't want mucus in your inner ears.

I have been sick for almost three weeks now, I feel much better than I did two weeks ago but I have this painfull cough that wont go away and feel like I have chest congestion that makes it hard to sleep at night. I have been taking over the conter stuff for it but it's not helping.Last night I could not take anymore and went to the doctor, he gave me an inhaler that helped alot and I was able to get some sleep last night, he also put me on antibiotics. I wish I had gone alot sooner. Because I felt better I thought the chest congestion and cough would go away.

General rule is to wait a week to see if the cold or flu goes away, since it is probably viral. However, if it lasts more than a week its probably an infection of bacterial sorts and you will need antibiotics. Hope you get over it soon!!

It sounds like you caught a rhinovirus and then contracted a bacterial infection.
You did the right thing. You can't treat a virus with antibiotics and trying to do so can increase bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

You guys must be contagious. I have been sick for a few weeks. I attempted a short jog last week and almost hurled. My congestion is clearing up so I am sure I will be at least 90% by Monday. It's about time. I am itching to get back to the gym.
Anybody here in Atlanta? I am leaving tomorrow for the ATL. It is one of my favorite cities in the US. I am anticipating a schedule if work, gym, work, gym and a visit to CNN.
I am heading out to enjoy the sunshine. It is gorgeous today. Have a great rest of the weekend.

Mix one part hydrogen peroxide, one part white vinegar and pour a little down the canal of the affected ear. Massage behind the ear to let it drain down and hold your head to the side for a minute or two. Then turn your head to the opposite side and let it run out (do this over a sink, obviously). The peroxide will help soften any buildup that's blocking the ear, and the vinegar will restore natural pH levels.
You can also use one part rubbing alcohol and two parts vinegar (the alcohol will dry up any water - if water is the culprit).
NOTE: The peroxide will bubble and pop. It won't hurt (quite the opposite: it will tickle), but it will feel (and sound) very weird. But it works.
Good luck!

No New Years resolutions for me. I am always striving to be better and a better person. However, If I am seriously working on being more patient and not so intolerant of stupidity. I'm pretty comfy with the patience thing. The stupidity thing might not work out so hot.
So I'm an Hotlanta for a few weeks. Anyone else here? This is one of my favorite cities.

Hmmmmm......perhaps the body condom was a bit over the top.
I always scare folks when I put that thing on.
OK.
Back in the medicine cabinet it goes.
My New Years resolution was to promise to NEVER make another New Years resolution. Ever. I'm definitely gonna keep this promise.

I wouldn't mind some snow. Winter is not the same since I left Anchorage. I am in Atlanta right now and it is mid 40's. My roomie said it has been in the low 80's at home. I am so not ready for the heat yet.
I am stoked about this weekend. I am going to the High museum to see the Terra Cotta Warriors exhibition. I missed it when it was in So Cal so I am not going to miss it this time.

I'm very tired of the heat and lack of snow....Hawai'i is always warm even in the summer time...but now that I have acclamated the low 60s is quite chilly!

I lived on Oahu for two years. It used to crack me up when it would get down to the 60's. All the locals would bundle up in their North Face and Columbia gear like they were on an expidition.
