Calling Fellow Bronco Fans! Discuss Coaching Situation
I for one. Supported Pat Bowlens Firing of Mike Shanahan for the following reasons.
1. We have not been a force in the NFL since Elway.
2. He had control of all personel and all gameplanning decisions.
3. We have best owner in NFL in Pat Bowlen- money was not a problem.
4. His Drafts as a whole sucked.
5. He has made horrible free agent accusations as of late.
My question to fellow Broncos is this:
1. Do you support the firing of Mike Shanahan?
2. Who do you want/think will be our new head coach or gm?

Oh and I would love to get Bill Cowher but that doesen't sound like an option.
I'm thinking Spananlgo (sp?), the D cordinator for the Giants or McDaniels the O-Cordinator for the Pats.

I said it in another thread, but I really wouldn't mind seeing Marty Schottenheimer. It would irk charger fans which is good and he has a decent record.

Time For Mike To Go
Worst defense I've ever seen.
New Coach? None of the names mentioned. I want a successful coach to quit his job and come to Denver (besides Marty).

What about Spags? The D cordinator for the Giants. According to reports, he turned down the Redskins Head job last year and he is the top canidate for the Jets job as well.
The Denver Post says that Denver interviewed him last weekend and he is the leading canidate up until now.
Raheem Morris the newly appointed D cordinator for the Buccs has interviewed. Jason Garrett is supposed to interview, as well as our O cordinator Dennison.
This should be interesting. Regardless of who we hire we will have the best coach in the AFC west. Norv Turner? Herm Edwards? Whoever Al Davis can find that will put up with his ****?

I understand the firing of Shanahan
-he has only 1 playoff win post Elway
-Drafts have sucked
But you don't let go a good coach without already having somebody else better or equal lined up. I hope the Broncos can steal Martz.

As a Giants fan I would hate to see Spags leave because, as a defensive coordinator, he's the man. However, I do not think he's ready to be a head coach. What I would like to see him do is stay out the rest of his contract, then take over for Coughlin in 3 years.
I think you guys would be better off with someone who's already had head coaching experience.
