Question from an old lady
I'm a 53 year old woman who has been working out consistently for at least 30 years. I took a few months off 24 years ago before my daughter was born then hauled her with me to a bench press competition by the time she was 3. I'm 5'4", 125 pounds and I love the weights. I never can seem to find any information about workouts/nutrition/supplements for women my age. They all think that anyone over 50 must have just gotten off the couch. Anybody know where I can get some good info?

I don't know why your age would mean that your workouts would be different than anyone elses.
But as for nutrition, I would assume that you need a litle more calcium than the "average" woman. Other than that, everything should be the same, or well similar.

Yep, same nutrition, same workouts, just pay more attention to making sure you are looking after your bones, and doing good warmups and flexability work. I've found I'm as strong as when I was younger, but recovery takes longer. I work harder at not getting injured, and generally don't take sets to failure, but everything else is the same.

There is a 64 year old woman at my gym who is in the best shape I have seen on most females 30 or 40 years younger.
She claims that consistent weight training exercise that are focused on balance is whats most important to her right now. She does all the same exercises everyone else does. She looks marvelous and I absolutely admire her. She has taught me allot.
