What To Graze / Snack On?
Just started lifting weights and eating right.
I'll have Brown Rice in the morning, Egg and Chicken for lunch and atm I'm eating raw nuts throughout the day to try and keep my metabolism going (ie. Eating constantly rather than 1, 2, or 3 times a day).
But I'm just wondering what's a good food to graze on / eat throughout the day. I am concerned about the fat content in the nuts so don't want to graze on that everyday.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Please, retake your avatar picture leaving a little more to the imagination, thanks.
Ok - onto your question.....Graze and snack on a meal. Take a meal and eat it over an hour or so....but it's not going to keep your metabolism going any faster than eating 3 quick meals.

Just eat more meals if you feel the need to "snack" throughout the day.

I always keep some sort of lettuce around, so when I feel like snacking, I just chop it and eat it.

Grab a bag of lettuce/ romaine hearts or something like that from the grocery store and eat em like a bag of chips. Doesnt sound tasty but its filling and healthy.

prolly wouldn't rely on nuts judging from your starting point. Keep it something low fat. Yogurt err granola bar or..deli turkey/ salad/ low fat cheeses.

Apple Cinnamon Rice Snacks
How about some rice cake snacks
3.52oz bag:
per serving: 8 mini snacks
Calories: 60
Total Fat: 0g
Trans Fat: 0g
Sodium: 50g
Sugars: 4g
Protein: 1g
Total Carbohydrate: 15g
although this probley wont help with metabolism. I find eating a fist size every 3 hours keeps me full till that 3rd hour, and half the time 3 hours is up before i know it and it feels like im constantly eating. Maybe bring an apple with you or some yogurt if theres a fridge at your work maybe even try just drinking water or tea to fill you up.

Can't go wrong with apples and walnuts. Well unless you consume way too much, but that's another issue.

when i get a craving between meals i reach for a big bowl of discipline.
seriously though, you need a protein in the morning, i like egg whites.
and dont be afraid of the nuts. good fats, protein, and fiber. what's not to love?

Really though, if you're losing fat then you should eat more often, like 6 times a day. Make a schedule of 3 main meals and 3 snack and stick to it.
Make breakfast with protein and carbs. Ie scrambled eggs and rice, and some fruit
Lunch bring in some more carbs and protein.
Dinner do more protein, less carbs, and lots of veggies
Snacking on nuts goes far... in calories. Have a handful or two a day and the rest of snacking leave to fruit and nutrition bars.

No shorts in the pic
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to get some lettuce and look at the nutritional info on the yoghurt.
What about fruit and vegetables? I've heard some people say to avoid, others say to eat em?

Avoid them???? Wha? Hell no. They are the people to meet when your losing weight.
Veggies: fiberous (brocolli etc.) push out the crap faster, which if isn't done is toxic to your body, starchy (carrots, potatoes) provide long-term energy that you should have in and thorugh out the day,
Fruits have the simple carbs, which if paired with protein after workouts help use all the protein for muscle tissue.
You might be suprised to find that veggies have protein too. Spinach, squash, and sweet potatoes are examples. I get 20g protein from the fruits and veggies in my diet.

When people say to avoid vegetables it's more because of bulking. It's not so much avoid either as it is limit them. The reason for that is a lot of fiber on a bulk combined with the already large amount of food will cause some rediculous bloat. Either way I'd say to try to get a couple servings in anyway.

If you are worried this much abour snacking on food, then you obviously are not taking in enough calories. When we says eat more, we dont mean to eat just 3 meals and then 3 snack between between. We mean MORE MEALS. More chicken and rice, eggs and oats, steak and rice, fish, potatoes. In order to grow like a man, you need to start eating like one. If you still get hungry eating something worth buying, not a bag of lettuce like others may do.
