Increasing cardio and surprised by my results
So, some of you might know that I had problems with my toes and elliptical. Well, it seems it's the tension I had it at, it was high so I found that exactly as others pointed out I was pushing with my toes.
Well, last week I switched to the treadmill.
This morning, I got up 2 hours earlier to go do cardio before work near where I work. Well, I did 40 minutes of that and I surprised myself. I was able to run 15 minutes of that 40 minutes. That for me was a personal best. I usually did 2 minutes and it would kill me.
So all this week I am hoping to improve since I will be doing cardio each morning Monday to Friday before work, then strength training after work. Weekends I might just relax (or like I have been doing lately go do more cardio).

Grats man!!!!
When you are doing your cardio, are you engaging your brain? Listening to something, watching a TV if you can? When I started doing cardio, I would find the littlest things as a reason to stop. (Not saying your toes issue was a little reason. You definitely had a good reason) But mentally, I would be preoccupied by this sensation or that and would end early or whatnot.
After I got my mind engaged on other things, those annoyances seemed to go away and I could train longer and harder w/o things distracting me. Eventually, I got to the point that no annoyances were enough to derail my training.
Again, grats to you man and keep up the great work!

Outstanding! I was there. I know EXACTLY how you feel, how you felt , how you are feeling. Next time just make it a goal to run for at least 16 minutes. Find those 60 seconds somewhere in your soul. If you can go more, go more...
Next time after that - 17 minutes, or whatever you can do.
All you can ask of yourself is your best. Give what you have.
Great job!

good for you. I dont care for the elliptical. The treadmill is the way to go for me.
I actually dont trust the elliptical to give me a good enough workout. I dont want to seem overly sexist but I tend not to use the same equipment that the women use.
