I have lost like 60 pounds almost since December 2007. Just go look at my profile and you will see what a lard ass I was. It was not for a contest, it was cause my wife told me I looked good from the neck up and that was about it.

I am entering this contest to put on lean mass and continue to drop my BF down to shwo what I have gained over the last year, and what I will put in over the next 12 weeks. I am using the X training article from M&F as a w/o guide to switch up from my normal w/o. I ordered my MT supps, 4 of them to be stacked, but got them Monday, so will have to reorder same products as the delivery date fell before Jan 1.

Either way, I believe with proper diet, training, and supplementation, no juice, roids, or gear is needed. Everything is timing with food and supplements and how hard you train is boosted by your nutritional intake after you train.

Good luck to all. I want to win this thing and have been planning my diet, supps, and w/o's for about 3 weeks. I start January 12, 2009. Will be an interesting ride. But if I don't win and I do put on some great size like 10 lbs lean and show up looking better than now, I will be a happy man.

Well, here's my before pictures, 47 years old and needing to get back in shape! Looks like legs, abs, legs, lats, and maybe some legs are going to be my priority! Seems like quite a few of us have that Dec 31- Jan 1 paper, would be nice to get a clarification on that from the mods. Looking forward to packing on some mass and getting ripped, not planning on cashing any checks yet, lol, but this contest is a great motivation to effect some positive changes. Your tweleve weeks start from the date of your photos. The date on the newspaper when you take them is when it starts. Remember you can go longer then tweleve weeks. You just have to have your after photos before the end of the contest.

I went ahead and emailed admin so hopefully I can get an answer for all of us on this newspaper issue. I, like many other people, are trying to figure out what will be considered a good national newspaper because i'm in iraq and can only get ahold of Marine Times and the Stars and Stripes.

Im taking a risk by posting any pics of me on the internet considering my occupation. All I was saying is the rules are the rules, You have to post pics. I am a very constructive person. But again, I also believe in rules and that they should be followed. I hope you post your pics and kick ass in the contest, but everyone has to follow the same rules is all.....

Well I would consider Marine Times and and Stars and Stripes Nat'l newspaers, if they don't they should, that would probably be enough for me to not do the contest. I can't think of anything more National.....

I'm currently in school also and home from break for another couple weeks. I hear ya with the horrible food on campus, luckily I got an on campus apartment so I can cook all my own food. My school gym isn't that great either compared to my home gym, but thats not gonna stop me. I'm extremely motivated for this contest and can't wait to start getting results.

undergrad no, but I am am college student (grad student) and for this I'm using the gym available on campus (I just turned 22 and this is my 4th year in college)

Currently I live close to campus (in Pittsburgh) so break is not going to kill me in this contest for 2 more weeks.

FYI, I just called Muscletech about the "national" newspaper. I took my befores with the Detroit News and from what he said, it doesn't qualify as a national newspaper. I hate to see potential winners get passed over because of this technicality. I went back to see resucemadden's before, sure enough, a USA Today paper. I'm going to play it safe and retake mine tonight, doesn't make a lot of sense, but I guess they require a national paper.

I bought a USA Today yesterday that had the date of Dec 31, 2008-Jan 1, 2009.

I asked the clerk if they had a USA Today with just the Jan 1, 2009 date and was told no and that was the only USA Today for Yesterday.

So I took pics using that paper.

Will they disqualify people who use the USA Today with the date of Dec 31, 2008-Jan 1, 2009.

Should I play it safe and buy a USA Today dated Jan 2 , 2009?

I don't know for sure, but it couldn't hurt. I'd hate to see someone get passed over because of something that trivial, but I'm sure it could happen.

Just wanted to let you guys know.

I just picked up the new USA Today that was delivered to a stores newstand.

Its dated Fri/Sat/Sun, January 2-4, 2009 and has the main title "The unlikely Conteders"

I asked them if they had a USA Today for just January 2nd and was told that USA Today's weekend edtions are always dated for Fri/Sat/Sun increments

So the USA Today that I used to take my before pics dated Dec 31, 2008-January 1, 2009 is accurate and in sequential order to todays paper that has the date of January 2-4, 2009.

I wouldnt believe that they would disqualify people for using the USA Today dated Dec 31, 2008-January 1, 2009 for their before pics because it is the only January 1st 2009 USA Today edition
