Protein Post Workout question...
I currently take 2 scoops of ON 100% whey post workout, but I'm unsure of the timing. I arrive at the gym warm up on the treadmill for 10 min. then hit the weights. after I'm done lifting I drink my shake and then hop back on the treadmill for about 45 min - 1 hour.
My question is, I've read in multiple places that you should consume your protein within 30 minutes of your workout, but is that post lifting or post entire workout? cuz if I wait till after my cardio, then it's usually about an hour after I finished lifting.

Because the lifting causes your muscles to need more repairing than the running, I'd take it after the lifting. Then maybe a BCAA supp after the running.

I would do all your running before and take your protein right after you lift. If not i would still take it right after workout but with water not milk because it will probably upset your stomach.

After you are done completely. It's just going to be used for energy and won't do much for recovery. Get an intratraining cocktail instead if you want.

I'd reverse this...

There is no right way.
Even the so called experts disagree.
Layne Norton-before cardio
Dave Palumbo-after cardio
And cardio should always be done after weight training, because you use up stored carbs during your weight training and then will get into fat burning mode sooner.

I recomend taking it at the end of everything i also recomend a complex carb with your shake if your doing cardio..
If you have a long workout planned i would also take a Intra shake while working out i think it helps out alot.
Goodluck with all your goals

Drink it before your workout.

What I've found that works for me best is eating a small meal of real food with a decent amount of carbs pre-workout and taking the protein after I finish and get home from the gym.
You need some energy to work on when you go, so I usually make myself a quesadilla and maybe an apple or banana, hit the gym, then get back and drink the protein.

5 grams BCAA pre lift
5 grams BCAA post lift
50 grams Whey protein in water after cardio
10 minutes cardio before lifting is good (warm up) and 20-30 minutes cardio after lifting is good. I wouldn't try doing a full cardio workout and then go lift weights like somebody told you to do. If if you do it this way you won't have as much energy or strength to lift the weights like you normally would because you will be tired.

2 scoops is good for pre and post. Drink half pre workout and the rest post workout.

I think your best bet is to do your lifting and cardio on different days, due to your long cardio session after lifting you could lose new muscle growth, you will start to burn muscle quicker than fat at this rate, lift three days and cardio for three days a week, this should even things out, try this for six weeks, good luck with your training. also include purple wrath on your cardio days.
