Question about Coan/Phillipi deadlift program
When you go to the circuit part of the program, ie stiff legged deads, etc, how much weight do you use in comparison to the amount used in the top set of 2 of heavy deads?

Hey guys! I can do 500 lbs. on the leg press, too...does that mean I win the race? I mean, it is a similar movement, right?
Um, right???

Ha! Not likely. My squat PR is 70 lbs less than my DL.
So, if he likes machines, maybe your buddy can do a 500 lb. leg curl?

Anyone know about that assistance work for the coan/phillipi program? If not, that's cool.

(has anyone else wondered about this?)
I have only been using right around 135 lbs for that stuff, because my back is well burned out and beaten from all the speed deads so much that I wouldn't be able to lift much afterwards anyway. So would I just lift whatever I can manage at that point in the work out?

If you're gonna get 500 DL before me I'm gonna be very mad :P
2 months seems like a short time to put 100lbs on just one lift

i'm doin coan/philippi right now and i don't get too hung up on the numbers on the assistance/circuit work, since my back and hips (i'm doing sumo, not conventional DL) are so fried by the time i get to it i can't lift much. plus, i don't do exactly the assist work he recommends, like i'll do cable low rows instead of BB rows sometimes if my hands are chewed up badly, and i throw in more hip and ab exercises.

Yea, I feel you on deciding which numbers to use exactly. I haven't been doing much more than 135 for either the straight leg deads, the bent over rows, or the good mornings. It's pretty much all I can handle at that point.
