Steel My Soldiers' Hearts by David Hackworth. About the Vietnam war, Hackworth turns a group of grunts with low morale, discipline and professionalism into one of the best counter-insurgency regiments in Vietnam. They start taking less casualties and start killing more and more Viet-Cong and North Vietnamese Army, and when not being directed by glory hogs or officers riding the coattails of their superiors, they don't get ****ed up. And when they are being directed by those terrible officers, they get ****ed up and lose limbs.
Kockroach by Tyler Knox. Its about a Cockroach that gets put into a humans body, kinda like Kafka's Metamorphoses but 10x more ****ed up/cool. The cockroach's new intellect makes him understand human behaviour(not entirely) and he becomes a successful businesman.
'World War Z' was pretty awesome too. A virus breaks out in some province in China, **** spreads and people fly around the world spreading it. It goes through the lives of various characters: astronauts who're watching the world burn, japanese blind man who has to fend for himself, etc. It's pretty epic.
'Rich Dad, Poor Dad'. Probably not interesting to the misc crew, but it is a good read, especially if you're at all interested in finances and economics.
Currently reading Colin Powell's 'My American Journey'. Great read, helps understand why he made certain decisions throughout his life and into the white house. Definitely worth a read for anyone interested in one of the greatest american heroes of the last few decades.

I was going to make this same thread. I want to read 2 books before spring semester starts.
Doubt most of the misc actually reads though. I'm thinking I might just go pick up a book in the classics section at B&N.
whats your reading level like?
the great Gatsby, Gatsby a pretty bad ass dude.
