Other than what people were saying about "Rescuemadden's" apparently suspicious transformation, the thing that bugs me about the last contest is that this is a forum-based contest, right? And that dude had never posted even once before on this board until he started posting in that topic...and as we all know, every single one of his posts (check his history) is pimping MT or talking about the MT contests.
Now if they had given me $25,000 I'd probably be inclined to pimp them too, but this guy really makes me raise my eyebrows. Keep your eye on the people whose first posts are in this topic.

of course if this contest is posted on the main site somewhere, that would go a long way toward explaining the people coming out of the woodwork...

The last contest was not a forum based contest.
Granted you had to have a bodyspace profile in order to do the challenge but the requirements in the rules did not say that you had to post in the forums.
It was the essay and your transformation that played the key part.
Read last years rules...it did not say that you had to post in the forums.

Well, what I meant was that I thought it was announced here on the boards and people would basically have to be on the board for a while to have seen the thread about it, otherwise they wouldn't have noticed. But I guess some people have probably been lurking and reading threads before they started posting, so it's not too far-fetched. The guy from last year really seems like a shill from the way he posts.

Was so excited for this until I found out it's only open to US residents...
Are there any competitions similar to this that are open to UK residents also does anyone know?

Yes......You would! If you had a chance to win $25,000! I was playing like Survivor, and everybody else was being negative,,,,I was being extra positive! I was using what some on here lack....TACT! It doesn't matter what you think with your raised eyebrow! If you want a shot to get in the best shape of your life, then enter the contest and quit being such a board nag!

Rescuemadden, I agree with you.
The reason why I had to quit the challenge for 2008 is because my wife diddnt like me being on bodyspace.
I mean this site can be very positive but it also can be negative as well. You have females and some men closeley showing genetalia! The site can be a great motivational tool but its turning into soft porn.
I dont blame you for not posting on this this forum as much. In the end, it was your transformation that spoke many words and for that you have my respect.
Id like to think that the reason why you werent posting on the thread that much was because you were taking care or more important matters such as family, gym, ect
I know for one thing.. I will try to get out more and be as lot more active instead of staying on the computer. Ill focus more time on my training and family to be the best man I can be...

Just wanted to say...
Hey everyone I just wanted to let you all know that I never negged anyone and I'm not knocking anyone who enters the contest. I'm not questioning anyone's morals or ethics and I wish everyone who enters this contest nothing but good things. Sounds like a load of fun and I want to participate soooo bad I can taste it....but....I am kind of dopey when it comes to the Bill of Rights and I really believe in the freedom of speech. I think it's wrong that MT is suing someone for voicing his or her opinion on an open forum no matter how stupid that opinion may be. Instead of suing they should have engaged in the forum and disputed that persons claims which is their right. I just wanted to make it clear that I'm not trying to boycott anything or trying to talk anyone out of the contest. For me personally though I cannot participate in a contest that is sponsored by a company that sues people for exercising their freedom of speech. If MT would please come forward and clarify their position or drop all suits against BodySpace members then I would love to do this but that's not going to happen so I guess I'll just have to pass. Ok I'll shut my pie hole now and leave this thread to those who are ok with the contest. Thanks for listening.

HURRAY Low Post Count n00bs!!!
Sure I came outta the woodwork, joined/refound BB.com back in August, slacked off a bit, and joined a gym again just 2 weeks ago. I figure, even if I have no chance whatsoever in coming close to winning, it's still a goal, and what's the point if you don't have a goal.
To everyone doing the contest, I look forward to joining you in the quest of transformation, I can see a lot of you will be doing your best to gain more weight and muscles and I'll be doing my best to shed the fat and get more muscle, should be fun.
Thinking of fat-loss, does Hydroxycut actually do what it says it does? Or should I stop being lazy and check the other parts of the forum and find out for myself

some people keep wondering if they are in business to sell supplements or in business to sue since they do so much of both.

I have a low post count i know, but im a classic lurker who does his share of reading and research. No one has mentioned this yet, but doesnt it seem like most of those winners and runner ups look like they were just at the end of a dirty bulk cycle and decided to time their cut cycle to coencide with the competition? Looking at the before pics, most of those guys looked like the classic weight loss adds. They had already put on a decent amount of muscle through lifting and bulking. They had poor posture to exaggerate the lack of definition, then they just cut.
Im not saying that cutting shouldnt be rewarded, as i havent been able to successfully do it yet. But if you look at the past winners last year... i really thought the "honorable mention" guy was the one that should have won it. He was the only one that didnt look like he was just maintaining his bulking/cutting cycle.

That's a big part of the reason behind the contest and advertising in general - to get people to notice.
MuscleTech is paying out those dollars as an investment. Bodybuilding.com benefits by new customers/BodySpacers signing on and potentially becoming long-term purchasers of supps through their online store.
It's a great plan and I'm not painting it as negative. It's called good business practice.
Get your attention, get you to buy, keep you as a customer. Brilliant.

I meant only in the sense of an approach. It's definitely a useful and effective process. Cost effective, especially compared to their four-page ads in glossy magazines. Here, with this online approach to advertising, they're getting a customer with each entry to the contest. Automatic customer. They don't get that with a print ad.

The last contest was definitely a lot of fun to participate in and, yes, to be a spectator as well. The thread was equal parts action, adventure, drama, romance, and comedy. And my "after" pics would represent the horror part.
