WNBF & INBF BIG PLANS FOR 2009 & BEYOND

Yes, we know word has been rocketing around the Internet, but the WNBF is confirming that the INBF is now the sole WNBF amateur affiliate in the U.S. This is great news for competitors, promoters and fans alike, as it streamlines the WNBF pro-qualification process and provides more competitions around the country with the same stringent natural requirements and excellent promotional opportunities.
The INBF (International Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation, Inc.) has been in existence since 2000, and sanctions more than 30 competitions each year (and growing). Furthermore, the INBF sanctions contests in Canada, Barbados, Germany and even Iraq. The federation has a contract with the U.S. Military as the exclusive sanctioning body for the U.S. Forces-Europe Bodybuilding & Figure Championships each year in Europe, as well as sanctioning events at military bases in Iraq and the U.S.

PRO NATURAL PRIZE MONEY & PROMOTION
The WNBF (World Natural Bodybuilding Federation) is the premiere Pro Natural sports federation in the world. Since its founding in 1990, the WNBF has awarded more prize money than any fully drug-tested organization in any sport ever. In fact, in 2009, the federation will pass the $1 Million mark in prize money awarded! The WNBF has the strictest banned substances list anywhere, but that?s what makes it the top federation in the world. INBF ? THE PREMIERE AMATEUR NATURAL FEDERATION
As always, ANY amateur athlete is welcome to join the INBF, no matter where else they opt compete. There are no restrictions on cross-membership and competition. The INBF has the strictest drug-testing in all of bodybuilding, with a banned substance list that proves its competitors really are CLEAN.
For instance, the INBF does NOT allow the use of DHEA (a testosterone-related androgen), 6-OXO (an androgen-based fat-burner), 7-OH DHEA (a non-research tested rip-off of the proven enzymatic thermogenic 7-Keto DHEA ? also known as 7-OXO DHEA ? which is licensed by Humanetics, Corp.). In addition, any etiochol-triene or etiocholeva-based products are banned, as etiocholene and etiochollinane are simply another name for androstene ? a banned substance. Ephedra is also banned (as it is by the FDA).
However, 7-Keto DHEA is not banned by the INBF/WNBF, as this is a carefully researched enzymatic-based thermogenic that does not convert to androstene in the metabolic pathway toward testosterone. (It is considered a metabolic dead end.) Therefore, it?s legal for use.
The membership to join the INBF is just $40, the lowest price among most amateur bodybuilding and figure federations. In addition, INBF membership includes a free subscription to Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness ? the leading drug-free publication in the world.

According to Leroy, it is going to be a Pro/AM. I know I will be there to make my Pro debut and I may have a few clients who will do the amateur. I hope it has a good turnout. We need to do all we can to have a Pro show on the west coast. I know of a couple of guys who would not have let thier pro status go if there would have been a show out here.

Having been a competitive amateur bodybuilder for the past 6 years, I have competed in 4 different leagues both tested and non tested. Here are some observations I have made comparing the different leagues.

Fees
The INBF has the lowest membership and entrance fees of any league I have done. I am paying less now as a WNBF Pro for membership than as an amateur in the others.

Polygraph testing

The INBF has the toughest and most comprehensive polygraph testing of any league I have ever done. I had to be finger printed and polygraph tested to teach Sunday School Kindergarten classes and the Polygraph for the INBF was tougher. Other leagues brag that "No other organization has a banned athletes list, or catches competitors taking banned substances." At the INBF shows I have done, there were athletes that never made it on stage due to failing the polygraph.

Quality of show
I have competed in the INBF twice now, both in 2008. The quality of both shows was on a much higher level than any other league. The promoters really know how to take care of the athletes.

Competition
Not only is the competition tougher, but also friendlier. I have made friends in the INBF whom I still keep in touch with, here on BB.com.

Don't want to hijack this thread by any means, just wanted to make some observations and comparisons from a competitors perspective that might help the league grow.

Hi guys, well I am INBF/WNBF all the way. My husband and I promote the INBF Washington State show in Aug. Our goal it to eventually become a pro/am show. But we want enough prize money, so that ea will at least win enough to pay for their entire trip and expenses-- plus some hopefully. I also want to be able to have all pro divisions and not just men bb and figure. Just seems to be a real bummer this year that for us women bb there are not many pro shows the same for masters figure. Also now those of us who are pros can compete as pro Ms fit body. Well lets see it offered in pro shows. I have all three and would love to compete! A group of us pro women bodybuilders are trying to plan out next years sched-- we travel and compete together. But shows are down and we do not want to be forced to do a pro show in June just to do NY in Nov, I know I need more time to make improvements before I start dieting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Roy's show in CA this coming Oct. Joe's show in Evansville is a week before our show here in WA so that is out for me. As a promoter the week before a show is crazy hectic.
Totally praying for our pro shows this coming year! We need more for all divisions and more prize money to make it worth it to cover travel expenses etc. A good goal to make plans to reach in our organization. We have to prove to the world that we are worth it. I know I'm busting my butt to promote us!

Having done Denise and Kevins show in Washington I have to say they are on the right track. This years show was your biggest was it not Denise? I only expect it to grow as you guys really took care of us competitors! Word will spread.

Your goals sound awesome to me! That's a lofty goal though. In order to have every competitors trip paid for I would think you would need some major corporate sponsors. I had to travel a long way and had a lot of expences. I could not have done it without some good sponsors myself. Good luck with that, I would love to do your Pro/Am in the future.

I think it is going to take some good promoters/pros like Denise to really get our sport and our league mainstream. I know I am not there yet as a promoter, but I am going to give it all I have as a competitor.

That would not only be cool, but a DREAM! I pray for the day that the WNBF shows get some national TV exposure like back in the 90's when we use to see Skip LaCour on ESPN. That would draw some major corporate backing. Even if it just started with local TV it's a start.

Is it true that "Mr. Ripped" AKA Nick Luberto will actually make it to the WNBF stage this year or will he suddenly get sick at the drug test again or will his boyfriend's dog need another emergency surgery?

I hear he has never placed lower than 1st in any contest- although I thought I saw some contest results on the web that showed otherwise??
