Hi Lopaw!! I work at LAX so I am in El Segundo every day. I will definitely check out KO gym. I love martial arts and have really been wanting to box. I was going to wait until Feb to start looking for a boxing gym. However now that I am all excited and fired up, I will go there Saturday. Thanks for the tip.
I am actually excited about my chest workout today. I better get back to work so I can head out early.
What is everybodies favorite body part to work out? Mine is back with calves running a tight second.

Just a question girls, on how you perform your training and diet.
Do you recommend higher calories, carbs with high weight, low rep to build mass OR medium calories, medium carbs and 10-12 rep range???
I dont' particularly want to 'bulk' the way that some do (i can't afford the new wardrobe. lol) but I do want some size. Think Diana Chaloux. yummy!!
any thoughts??

Always went with 1g of protein / LBM, 25-30% coming from fat and the rest coming from carbs. Always trained like a powerlifter and that's when I made my biggest gains in the gym (went from 120 to 155 lbs in 3 years and maintain a similar bodyfat %).
If you can handle carbs well, go with it. It's really a personal choice because at the end of the day, it all comes down to total calories + protein + EFAs.
Good luck !

Did anybody watch the Oscar De La Hoya fight? It was so sad. Manny is phenomenal and I would never take anything from him. However, it was a shame to watch Oscar so thoroughly get his butt whooped. Since this is a lesbian thread I know you all get it when I say that it was like watching batting practice ;-)

Maybe eating with chopsticks would slow me down a bit !! I tend to become an O-compulsive eater while studying hahahaha

I had a blast tonight. I have decided to do a full body circuit 4 x week. Tonight was the first night. I will be spinning or riding my bicycle on the "off" days. I can definitely say that I pretty much whooped my own a$$ tonight.
Anyone else doing a circuit ?

What I like to do is heavy jump rope x 1 min, then I drop and do 10 burpees... until I reach 100. Then I do 10 DB Snatch (1 arm) superset with 5 chinups for 5 consecutive minutes without stopping.
Don't have much time to train with the finals so this short workout is kicking my ass for sure

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was the perfect mix of action-packed and chill time.
Whenever possible I would rather do my cardio outside. So on Saturday I went for a ride on the coastal trail. It was windy and I got sandblasted. Burned all kinds of calories just didn't get so far.
I am going to Atlanta Wed/Thurs for our company Christmas party. The Westin has a decent gym so shouldn't be to bad. In January I have to go back there for 6 weeks. I will probably work out at the Crunch gym in Buckhead. I have heard Crunch has gone downhill. I hope not, they were a good gym.
Have a great week.

woohoo! It's my last day of school before I head home. Time celebrate by hitting up the bars and clubs!
Then I have to find a new gym because we moved. There's a nice YMCA near my new place. has anyone ever trained there? how is it?

Welcome to the newer than me. Now if we can just keep this thread going.
I just spent 3 days in Hotlanta. A very decent and functional gym in my hotel.
I am getting over a fever so I have not been to the gym. I started a new routine two weeks ago and I can barely wait to hit the gym. I will probably feel awesome on Christmas, the day the gym is closed.
Have a great week.

So at work yesterday I was talking to one of the girls about the new gym I joined and I told her I really wanted to get into bodybuilding. All she said was "You're a lesbian, right? That makes sense." Do you girls ever feel like all women bodybuilders are stereotyped as lesbians? I mean, it's frustrating! I was a lesbian before I started lifting weights! Labels are annoying.

A protein powder won't make you fat as long as it fits in with your macros (calorie intake). If you can afford, get the Extend or Purple Wraath BCAAs if not you can pick up a cheaper generic version. I prefer Purple Wraath myself.
BCAAs will help you during a cutting phase and if you don't have a decent protein powder that already has BCAAs included. Also, get yourself a good multivitamin and some fish oil.
