I am debating on wether I want to enter this contest.Any input from others? Do they supply diet and work out plan,or do you use your own? Thank you.

The contest is really a promotion. A sales tool which I imagine is great for both BB.com and MuscleTech.

Each participant must purchase at least one MT supp from BB.com in order to be eligible to participate in the contest.

I joined last year, purchasing their regular Hydroxycut. Believe it was sixteen bucks at the time.

MT has until January 1 to make a statement re the lawsuits in the contest thread or I'm going to have to give it a pass. Yeah, no loss to them, but I can't understand why they would expect 100% happiness with and support of their company when they're handing out summons or lawsuits to members of this community. Odd.

Here are my questions:

1. Has any non-employ/volunteer rep actually had to fork out money to defend themselves against legal action by MT?

2. Are the lawsuits actual lawsuits or merely summons (paperwork) sent out as scare tactics?

3. Has MT made any statements in response to this thread? Such as "Psyche! We were just messing with you!"

4. Does anyone else believe that someone at MuscleTech is thinking, "Damn, Brewster, you made the wrong choice in messing with the naysayers."?

I'm thinking that maybe someone who had this bright idea at MT is getting an earful right about now.

Dear MT and BB.com,

Not meant as disrespect but someone needs to do some damage control, imo.

Just a fan's thought. Worth what you paid for it.

But those were primarily issued from one Bodyspacer to another. MT reps did frequent the thread, of course, but what was given was support from one community member to another.

More or less.

Yeah, I had my meltdowns.

I wasn't alone on that count, though.

And I talked (talk!) too much.

Wishing the sued all the best. I hope it's all a misunderstanding that can be resolved to the satisfaction of all parties involved before this contest is scheduled to begin.

heh

Thank you, good sir.

I honestly don't know who actually got sued, but SPACECLOWN and others have stated there's some drama. Haven't seen any subpoenas or articles in the newspaper, but I trust that they're not just blowing smoke or telling lies.

Apparently, MuscleTech's legal department is unhappy with people talking smack about their company.

DEEP POCKETS!

And it's an All-American truism that anyone can be sued for anything at anytime. Making it stick is another matter, but if a company has the money to sue then I suspect the person getting sued may be destroyed, innocent or not, simply by paying for their legal defense.

I'm just curious about the claims and this is why (again, I'm talking TOO MUCH) I asked for a MT representative to follow-up or address those claims.

If there's an actual pending lawsuit then I guess their hands are tied. Yet even a statement like that hasn't been forthcoming.

Yup.

I have a ton of Superman tees. I've often joked with the ladies at the gym that it stands for "Skinny" or "Sexy" depending on who I'm talking with.

Suppose that "Stupid" works as well.

Thoughts on MuscleTech Supps....

So, having been a fan of MuscleTech since they recommended 4 caps of Hydroxycut 3 times a day, I thought I'd throw some random thoughts up about MuscleTech supplements.

Sadly I doubt I'll enter this year's contest, I bombed out of last the last one hard and I don't think I'll have twelve straight weeks without having to move for work between Jan 1 and May 7. But this looks like it's going to be an annual event, maybe 2011 I can play?

- The Hardcore Muscle Building Stack and Hardcore Shredded Stack should both contain booklets with diet and training recommendations

- Cell-Tech and Nitro-Tech have for the most part always been advertised as two that are more effective then beans and rice

- For a while I thought the only product MuscleTech really lacked was a multi-vitamin, they recently put out Vitakic, which I tried for a month and really enjoyed

- I believe Vapor and HALO are to be taken pre-workout / post-workout, respectively. By far my favorite MuscleTech supp is the Vapor. I don't know why, I loved the taste and got good pumps while on it. I was up to 2-scoops and gave three a try, ended up capping my dose at 2. I wasn't a fan of HALO but that's just me

- For a contest like this, it's obvious they're looking for someone ripped to the bone, entering and not taking Hydroxycut / Hydrazide would be 'silly'

- There are a few wild cards out there, namely Aplodan, Anator P70 and most recent CyroTest & MyoShock HSP. All anabolic activators, I think...? Maybe someone can help fill in the gaps there.
The real genius of MuscleTech products is that they're all designed to work together. I think the best stack would be...

~ Gakic
~ Leukic
~ Creakic
~ Nitro-Tech (Bars, RTDs & Powder)
~ Vapor
~ Vitakic
~ Hydroxycut
~ Hydrazide

Sorry for the rant I really want each and every one of you to reach your goals and just wish there was a different motivator than this sponsor.
I understand what you are saying. but to say I have no morals because im going to enter this contest is just as insane as them suing. I look at it this way. Ill do what I did last year, buy the cheapest product and enter( I probably just ruined any chance of winning now) if I spend 30 bucks and win, Im screwing them..... But since I just gave up the fact that I dont really use MT supps, I am always curious about them, but they are rather expensive. More than I could afford. Im just a regular guy to, 3 kids, wife, mortgage, car payments, snowblowing the driveway. I dont really know what i am trying to say. But questioning my morals and ethics, considering you know nothing about me, is not real cool.....

I figured some would get hurt by that post and honestly I mean not harm or any judgment. I apologize if it came out that way. Buying even a $30 supplement does go to their bottom line even if you think it doesn't. You are not the only one that probably feels this way and they to will spend X amount. Each time the volume of product sales increase and Iovate makes more money. Iovate chooses to spend that money on their very expensive legal team to pursue lawsuits such as mine. The product efficiency has nothing to do with the pricing imo. Think of the advertising budget and legal expenses a company like this has. You will then see why their products cost what they do imo. Back to the subject of morals though... I don't mean to offend anyone I just hope you can sit back for a minute and take a look from my eyes on this company you choose to support. It looks a bit different now doesn't it.

Hrmm

Glad to finally get to the end of this thread and through all the angry bickering wieners. Yes I know I haven't posted much if indeed at all, but for the love of all that's holy and sacred, try to be human to each other guys if you can :-D

This looks like it is a great promotional tool that MT has created and I might enter this as I have used some MT stuff in the past and have no problem buying a couple more products through BB.com. Plus, as a slowly being less fat guy it's great motivation, it's a contest, it motivates people and I'm looking forward to the dozens of trips to the gym in the next 4 months.

I think the biggest problem I'm would have with this are the pictures and the general grooming, my nickname's chewbacca... but I guess I'll have to do a bit more grooming...

They have these places called spas, most of them employ waxing technicians. I have a pretty big back but can usually get it done for 50 bucks. You can buzz and shave the rest of your bod. A lot of people say to have a wife or girlfriend do it for you. I guess it ain't always all roses being single.

Don't let something as simple as body hair get in the way of entering a contest like this, or any other.

If you're really called chewbacca, you should snap a few pics and join Mighty_Metcalfs thread...

I have a couple of questions as i am going to enter this time.

So the transformation officially beings on Jan 1st... but it dosent not give a exact time frame. It just says 12weeks minimum... so it can actually turn into a 16-18week cut?

How many supplements do i have to buy from MT to qualify?

Thx~

One MuscleTech supplement purchased through the Bodybuilding.com store qualifies you for entry.

Are you sure it doesn't list an end date?

And welcome to BodySpace.

This whole thing just doesn't make sense. I wish I could hear something from MT on this subject as right now I only have one side of the story and I'm not really sure of their story. If these people were posting things all over the internet bashing Muscle Tech products in an effort to promote the products they use I can't really blame MT for being pissed. Especially on a bodybuilding site. I believe in freedom of speech but I think you should use better judgement in how you use that freedom. Freedom of speech doesn't mean you should have the right to bash someone or something just because you feel a need to. Like I said earlier in the thread why not just use the forum to tell people about the many advantages to using the products they enjoy instead of telling them how ****ty the competitions products are? That being said though I also don't think a huge company like MT should go around sueing people who don't really have the resources to defend themselves though.

I would like to say one more thing though against my better judgement. My morals were questioned for entering this contest and I too got a neg rep. This to me is crap! To the person who give me your stupid little red dot and questioned my morals...Please tell me why should I even give a damn that you are being sued and why should I support you? I went back over my pages history and I don't see where you have ever visited my BodySpace...left me one single comment or word of encouragement...commented on a blog or anything. As far as I can tell till you read my comment on here you had no idea I exsisted and probably really could care less if I lived or died so tell me now why I shouldn't enter a contest that could provide me a great opportunity to advance myself other than the fact that they are sueing you for bashing their products. Although you are not familiar with me I am somewhat familiar with you. I have read several of your forum post and you seem to be a very negetive person and seem to take great pleasure in ripping other bodyspace members a new one. Doesn't seem to me like your very supportive of your fellow bodyspacers so again I ask...why should I support you. If you could give me a good reason I would gladly line up behind you and not enter this contest....

I do not believe I negged you but will give my 2 cents. It is against the forum rules if you are a rep to bash another product but you can bash the ingredients etc and the company has the right to defend themselves. My post that I believe drew attention never stated anything but what was on the label of the product. If they got hurt feelings over it then maybe they should change their packaging, advertising. Most peoples responses like "x amount of lbs in x amount of days" are straight from their marketing. It's so ridiculous that nobody has to change the wording as it is their own. They have been sued before for outlandish claims right here in the city I live in from the Attorney General of MO http://ago.mo.gov/newsreleases/2003/032703.htm

I am going to say I have been somewhat negative lately and admit that. With current stress from this case and not being associated I am now able to freely voice my opinions on companies/products without breaking any forum rules. BB.com has a strict guideline on what a rep can say btw. So my honesty even though sometimes unpopular is easily construed as negativity. If you know anything about me on this board you know I only make light of situations that need to be like my callout on ALRI for mislabeling herbal natural supplements that actually contained a steroid in it. This is dangerous for the consumer I had first experience with this. Please don't get me wrong as I honestly want the safety of everyone and each to reach their goals. I have been supportive of many people in th 3 years I have put into this board. Most of my time it is via PM but I can attest to you and the numerous members I actually have met IRL that I want everyone to reach their goals and am supportive.

If you are questioning why to support me and the answer is not clear yet I don't think I can persuade you. If you feel it is OK for a large corporation to use scare tactics to suppress ones first amendment right (which is illegal) then you can't support me. Again I wish everyone the best.

This has made things a little bit clearer...thank you. I may still enter this contest but I believe in the bill of rights and I don't think anyone should piss on it so unless MT comes forward and tries to shed a little light as to why they feel they have a right to surpress free speech I think I might have to skip this contest which really sucks ass because I think It would be an awesome opportunity for me. Help me out here MT I really want to do this contest please.

Don't let something as simple as body hair get in the way of entering a contest like this, or any other.

HA Ha, much appreciated reply, nothing was going to get in the way of taking part in this, I guess I just wasn't thinking beyond not wanting to burn out my electric shaver when I posted at 2 this morning.

I'm copying and then sending this to admin and to Richard as well to see if they might direct this (what I consider a) reasonable request for clarification on the topic of lawsuits, reps, and MuscleTech's possible involvement.

If only to say, "Yes, there is pending legal action against individuals but we cannot discuss the specifics."

Has MuscleTech made any statement re this line of discussion? If so I haven't seen it.

Again, I value Bodybuilding.com and its online community in BodySpace, I have purchased MuscleTech supplements in the past including their Mass stack, their Cut stack, Anator, Hydroxycut, and more, but I find it disappointing that there is talk of people being sued for expressing an opinion on their products. That's disturbing. That's what I'd call a wtf moment.

I'm not entering the contest unless there's some form of clarification. And again, MuscleTech may state "Big whoop, loozah!"

Their silence on this subject and absence from this thread sounds mighty close to that statement anyway, imo.

MuscleTech, clarification, please. Are you suing potential customers?

Think I'm gonna have to pass too without some kind of clarification. I completely understand MT not wanting to see their products trashed on a bodybuilding website but instead of sueing why don't they exercise their freedom of speech and go online and defend their products and engage in a verbal exchange. Wouldn't that be much better in the long run? Maybe I'm just a simpleton but that makes much more sense to me.

Thumbs up Why So Much Animosity (you Know Who U R)

I dont understand why everyones so worried about what the next mans doing. If its to sell a product or not it gets people who would normally be sitting on their fat a$$ off the couch and in the gym. You dont understand how your words effect others. The money is the motivation, and sometimes you arnt as good as you think you are. No matter what you post on this blog or any other, MT will still put on the contests and you'll still be upset. What ever, do the contest or dont do the contest, stop being so bitter. Hell you'll use someones product anyway. and if not thats probably why you lost the last time....

Red face

Why can this thread just be for the contest? If you wanna continue to trash MT do it somewhere else. Those of use who would like to use the contest for motivation don't wanna hear people piss and moan about the drama. I am training whether it is for the contest or not but hell why not set a goal and continue to use what I am using just ordering it from here vs. some where else and have the chance at some loot. I wish everyone good luck. I'd love to see this be a positive resource for people who are looking to improve their bodies whether its just lose some flab or a total transformation.

Another "sub-10 posts" BodySpacer jumps into the fray!

Thank you for speaking out. No go fill out your profile in its entirety.

Edit: I assumed incorrectly. That's a pretty full profile. Kudos. Good luck with the contest.

You're entering?

You're right.

Still, if someone was killing baby seals you probably wouldn't enter their contest.

Think of the reps as baby seals.

Or not.
