because most people use mild recreational drugs and alcohol responsibly. having that right taken away because of a few who don't is unfair. And like someone mentioned, the prohibition didn't stop people from getting their alcohol. they should get rid of the ban on weed

Alcohol as itself sucks. Banning alcohol sounds like a great idea. Alcohol, in terms of abuse, is so much worse than even weed yet is legal, and it sucks as a substance. But on the same accord, Beer Connisseurs, people of culture where beer, saki, wine, etc. was traditional, wine connisseurs etc. are also getting totally slapped in the face, and for some people wine is even a hobby and then they get pissed and riot like its the 1920's all over again.

Also, to all the people who say alcohol is causing society problems...
My dad and 2 of my uncles are manual worker (construction, plumber, electrician) and trust me... many average american worker would be MORE violent WITHOUT alcohol. It's their anti-depressing "drug" they can get without prescription.
