New bench max yesterday
a buddy and i were back for break and went to the gym i repped 225X13 wanted 14 but o well then after i finished the rest of my workout i decided to go back and up my max. I got 275 pretty easy and almost had 295 my spotter kind of grabbed the bar early but idk that i would of gotten it anyway. Over christmas break ill try it again. my goal is 315 by june

dude if your pumping out 13 of 225 you should be hitting 315 easy.wtf

ya i dont know why either iv always trained for reps over one rep max idk if that has anything to do with it

LOL, no pics or vids. Not even a tiny avatar shot, its hard to look bad in those. I used to go to highschool with a kid who could lift your numbers. His name is Jerod Mayo, he was the #1 pick for the NE Patriots last year, their starting line backer now.

He benches 275, why does no one believe that?
I am very close to his stats:
5 11, 180-185 weight, I think I could bench 245 now (benches 235 about a month ago). I have A LOT of fat on me also.

Not necessarily. There is a big difference between muscle endurance and strength. I can rep 225x15, but i'm still just shy of hitting 315. My issue is shoulder strength, but do not ever assume that because someone can rep out one weight that they should be able to hit a certain max.

I don't rep out 225 but on hypertrophy days I do 3 sets of 12 at 225 but my max currently is only 300 but I haven't ever just maxed I just know I fail after 300 on max effort days

my thoughts exactly i can get 7-8 on 220 and i can get 270-280. I'm also 182 which is maybe a tiny bit taller than you(jst 6ft) and maybe a couple pounds heavier.

It's possible, but your form must be total ****. A guy at my gym repped 230 x 10 and said ''Not bad for a guy who's only 150 lbs (About 5'10)'' Yes it's pretty good, but he litterally did 10% of the ROM, he went down about 3 inches.

I believe you man...it just depends on the way you train I was hitting 315 when I had 8 reps on 225, my training partner had 315 when he had 15 reps on 225.
Goodluck...you'll def make it to 315 by June...probably much sooner than that.
