911 Need Help
Just saw a poster here for a competition on the 13th of December. I have two weeks to prepare. I have ordered tanning products and expect them to be here in time. I cut the carbs in my diet by half starting this morning. I am increasing cardio with HIIT training. Not sure if I'll do it daily, every other day or what. Feeling it out at the moment. I have started working on posing and intend to practice daily in front of a full length mirror and with someone else to critique as soon as I identify them.
I think there is very little chance I will be truly prepared for this event, but I need the education. I still have the issue of convincing my boss to let me take the helicopter ride to another base to do it. I work seven days per week at the moment.
Any suggestions for what I can do at this point? Do I just do it for the experience? Do I go and watch? I've never even attended an event.
Leaning toward participating for the experience at the moment.
Thanks.

if your avatar pic is recent then looks like a a proper water cut will do you well with a proper tan. I mean preperation is the key, but short term just have fun, and learn from the experience. Have fun its the most important part. If you want any specific supp advice hit me up on PM. Good luck!!!

Two weeks is not long enough to prepare for a BB show. Unless you are a genetic freak, you need atleast 10-15 weeks or more depending on your bodyfat %.

I think I'm a little better cut now than I was when my avatar pic was taken. What are you describing as a water cut? I read a contest prep article here on bb.com. It talked about increasing sodium intake two weeks out and then tapering off to the contest date. I drink five to seven liters of water per day. I was going to cut that to half the day before and go in with just enough to keep thirst at bay the day of. Is that what you are describing?
Thanks much.
I just talked to the coordinator. She says it is pretty informal and would be a good learning experience. She says they usually have about 15 competitors in the male classes. Weight classes have not been determined yet. They are waiting to see how many competitors they have.
Dave.

Cutting water will NEVER help you unless you are an AAS user.

Here's my two cents:
Since you said you are about the same as in that avatar pic you have up, you are no where close. You're not eight weeks out. You hardly have any ab definition. Your best bet would be to just go watch the competition to see how lean class-winning competitors get so you can properly prepare for one in the future.
Doing a two week ultra crammed contest prep when you need 16 steady weeks is a lot like trying to bake a pizza in 2 minutes at 800 degrees when it properly needs 16 minutes at 350 degrees. It just isn't going to work.
