To all the Marine Veterans

Hey Everyone Just have a question for all of the Marines, I will be leaving for basic Training March 9, and I can't meet up with my recruiter like I want to every week to PT, so can anybody help me out with a training regimen to be ready for March 9?

im in the corps right now, dont worry about boot camp. Its gonna suck in its best days it will suck worse than most of the days you have in civilian life but once its over youll be happy and look back on it and laugh. best thing to tell you is get in condition for aerobic type work outs. leg lifts, butterflys, pushups, mountain climbers jumping jacks, i know it doesnt sound hard but try doing about 5-600 jumping jacks in a row and youll get tired. dont let all their yelling and screaming get to you, have thick skin and dont i repeat dont take it personal. Just do what they tell you to and DONT THINK OR ASK WHY, just do it AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AND SCREAM EVERY ANSWERE back, you think im joking move fast and yell as loud as you can when your suppose to and youll be fine.

oh yea sorry forgot to answer your other questions about pt. im not a trainer and so its hard for me to tell you what to do to get ready and i have no idea what you can do or what your bf% is or anything like that. whats your pft score or your ist score if you havent done a pft yet. your not looking so much for being crazy strong, your gonna want to have endurance kinda like an endurance racer or a triathalon or something like that.

If possible try Crossfit workouts they post them on their site for free. They are the closest to getting into Marine Corps fitness shape you can get without going to boot. Here a list of some gyms in Maryland I am assuming one of these will be in your area if you decide to actually go to one. Here in SD alot of Seals train this way before BUDS and even while still in the Military. Good Luck Semper Fi
