Cool Perosnal training schools?

I'm moving to Kentucky this December and was wondering where I can find personal training schools. I've looked all over and found one. I know for a fact their has got to be more than one. If anyone can give me a link to a website to search state by state where the schools are at that'd be great. Or if you know on hand a school even better. I'd rather learn personal training through school rather than online. Thanks alot.

Lets try not to Be hatin on purdue please. The benifit is just being more marketable and having somethin to fall back on. I wouldn't get a degree in PT cause if the market sucks then what else can you do? you spent 4 years for a degree in PT. Better to get a BA in Health and Fitness, Physiology, sports science etc. That way you can have have more options if the Initial plan fall through.

I got certified at our gym while just outa high school, and got paid the same as a woman their who got her degree in it.

Not sure where i'm heading with this. so i'm done.

Yeah ha ha nothing against Purdue - I'm sure it's a great school - Just the concept of having it as a degree - Like you said yourself, if you invest all that time and money into it, and come out equal or less than someone with less credentials, then you might feel a little bit dumb!

Ya this is a big topic for me today. Kind of odd that u made this thread bc i was gonna make the same one lol. Today i found out some info on personal trainers. Average yearly salary is around 22,000 a year. That doesnt cover one year at my college, Kstate. So I was wondering where fellow personal trainers went. Have yet be really interested in any other field.

Yeah man, this is definitely a hot topic on the message boards - Good degrees for personal training can be exercise science, biomechanics, biology, community health, etc.

Yeah man - you'd be fine doing that - don't worry too much about that guy with a four year degree from Texas - This industry is different from all others, in that you can have a four year degree in exercise science, and if you're a personal trainer, still work long hours for very little pay - accounting or business might be different - but not personal training - someone with a cert, experience, and good people skills can do just fine. I happen to know plenty of trainers with a Bachelors who are struggling BIG time.

The people who make it are the ones who train their own clients independent of a gym - To do this, you need experience dealing with people, training clients, and providing great service. Believe me, they don't teach all this in school.

Where do you find the community colleges that offer personal fitness training? ive searched for so long and havent found anything in Kentucky but one college. That college is an hour and a half from where im moving to. Ill deal with it if I have to but was hoping for a bit closer in the Bardstown area.
