It is definitely in between a SLDL and a regular DL. But is seems difficult to lift the bar up during the squat phase of the deadlift when the torso is shorter (yeah, seems like your torso is a bit unproportianate to your body. mine is too I actually have the same problem). The arms have to extend farther and it doesn't quite balance which causes the higher butt thing. I dunno, just my perspective lol possibly some flexibility issues as well

You hit the nail on the head. My arms are FAR longer than my torso. I do have semi poor ankle flexibility, but you described my problem to a tee. My legs are very long as you mentioned. I've toyed with it and honestly it's akward getting lower because of my legs in proportion to my torso / arms. I may go back to sumo which takes away from my leg length a bit.
Good call though my man!

If it were me, I'd just do rack pulls since you are using so much back as it is.
Maybe try a cambered bar to change the leverage in your favor if you must pull from the ground.

Yeah, I got the same problem. But as the guy above said, rack deads might be good cuz you can start the dl from a comfortable position then! Good idea blackcatt

I did them and worked up into the low 500's this summer. May go back to that. It's just finding that right starting position. Only downside is my college gym only has 1 place that I can do that.. not that many people use the squatracks .

BigLA's MANning UP
Day 5..
Dosages:
Blue Print: 4 caps / day in the morning
Primal Male: 3 Caps AM, 3 Caps PM Monday-Friday
Clout: 1 serving 30 minutes pre, 1 serving AM
Body Octane: 1 serving 30 minutes pre, 1 serving AM
Random Updates: Well I had an upper day today. Workout started off bad since I got the same number of reps on my barbell incline (215x4) and then flat db press (90s x 8) as I had before. Kind of upset me I didn't make any gains. However after that I was on a rampage. I added 5 lbs to my standing shoulder press, 10 lbs to my lat pulldowns (underhand gripped) for both my 4-6 rep set and my 10 rep set. I also hit the full stack for 7 reps of tricep pushdowns (strait bar) which was up 20 pounds but down 2 reps from last time. Pretty stoked to be hitting the stack on lat machines soon as well. Hopefully my incline numbers go up otherwise I'll have to switch it up and use some more flat movements.

BigLA's MANning UP
Day 7..
Dosages:
Blue Print: 4 caps / day in the morning
Primal Male: 3 Caps AM, 3 Caps PM Monday-Friday
Clout: 1 serving 30 minutes pre, 1 serving AM
Body Octane: 1 serving 30 minutes pre, 1 serving AM
Random Updates: I'll get a video up soon. Really busy with two tests on Monday so I've been studying majority of the night other than my workout. I crushed it pretty hard. Hit 120x5 easy for curls, it felt light and that was good. Made good progress on my sldl and leg press as well. Finished up with a fst-7 pump set on the leg press for 3 and then the leg extension for 4 that was just absolute hell. It was tough walking upstairs to get out of the gym and I liked it.

There are a few noticeable effects thus far:
-Improved energy throughout the day
-VERY VERY full throughout the day
-Seem to be harder throughout the day as well (going along w/ the last point)
-120 on curls felt super light.. and 115 usually feels heavy as hell. I think some real good strength increases should be coming on from this point out.
-Sore. I only say this because it rarely happens. Due to my big increases in a couple of my weights last workout and my fst-7 finishes, whichever part I target has been feeling hammered the next couple days. This is pretty great actually, because I'm on a mission to out eat any soreness. 4k cals go down like nothing now.

Random Updates:
Basically I've been crushing everything it seems except for my dumbbell / incline movements. My lat numbers, tricep, bicep, hamstring, and quad numbers have been phenomenal. Shoulder DB numbers and incline numbers not so much. I'm going to switch away from DB's and hit up machines for a little to make some progress. This way I can go in 5 lbs increments and what not.

Try guillotine presses? I know Sean from App Nut loves that exercise better than incline presses and he's a big guy. Try 'em out. Make sure you have a spotter!

Yeah, I love them personally. I know Sean does them with free weights after he does flat press, but I personally like to do them w/ a smith machine at the end of my chest workout...that way you can really work on contracting the muscle and feeling the stretch, especially with a nice pause at the bottom.

Random Updates: Another solid workout today. Bi's felt good, nice and full. I crushed last times numbers on leg press calf extensions and leg curls (hit the whole stack by 5 this time). Narrow stance smith squats are giving me some trouble. It seem to be plateau'd or plateauing so I will see what type of changes I can make for next time. I also put 20 lbs on my widowmaker (20 reps) on leg press after squats. Walking out of the gym was a battle.

Ha thanks.. I'd disagree about the build and strength but it's a work in progress. Finally choking down 4k cals a day and still hungry. That's the good sheit!

I always described my intensity training to be high, most of the people I workout with said that I was a gym "nazi". Here I am dumbfounded. Excellent starting numbers, can't wait to see the end results.

Thanks man. It's really my release. I like to think I'm pretty intense.. but it's really only when I'm in there. I figure if I'm doing it, I'll make the most of it. I actually had a kid apologize for asking me to spot him the other day lol. I guess I must look intense.

I'll be in over thanksgiving but who knows if I'll have time. Over christmas break I should have some time. Foods I'm eating mostly chicken breasts, lean ground beef, burgers, natty pb, almond butter, chex mix, occassional sun chips, oats, wheat thins, milk.
That's basically all I ever eat to be honest lol. As far as cardio goes, twice a week for one of my classes actually and just 25 minutes or so with my heart rate between 115-130 on an incline treadmill which is usually between 250-350 cals.

Just let me know when and where. I'm always up for a workout
Still training DC? I see you are incorporating FST-7.

Nope after a year on dc I wanted to mix it up a bit. I use the DC training split but basically a heavy and light set per working part.. and then fst-7 for something I want to bring up. It's basically some set stuff with some feel.

BigLA's MANning UP
Day 13.. (Saturdays workout)
Dosages:
Blue Print: 4 caps / day in the morning
Primal Male: 3 Caps AM, 3 Caps PM Monday-Friday
Clout: 1 serving 30 minutes pre, 1 serving AM
Body Octane: 1 serving 30 minutes pre, 1 serving AM
Random Updates: Sorry this is late, my housing I'm supposed to be living in this year is almost done here at school. We have been in the process of getting everything packed up and ready to move, as well as patching the walls about the size of my head and buddies fist.. oops. Anyway, the workout went great. Again incline was stubborn as hell, but everything else flew up. We'll see if my recent modifications for chest spark growth in my incline. If not I'll be switching it up again. I'm happy with my progress made thus far and my lifting partner from home, who hadn't seen me since summer was in town today and noticed the ~15lbs or so I've added since then. Also when I move in, I may not have internet for a couple days depending on the speed of the company. That is all!
