Bench, Squat and Dead
I have recently took a new approach to these three exercises. I am training for more muscle density, so in order to approach this I am choosing to change my core lifts...Bench, Squat and Deadlift to heavier sets. I was using more volume, and staying with nothing but sets of 10 repetitions. I have read in several places and most recently, Arnold's encyclopedia, that you need to do Heavy Training to bring more density to your muscles. I started doing a 15 rep warm-up, and then do one set of 10 so that I can slightly adjust to heavier weights after the warm-up. Then I am hitting solid sets of 6 repetitions. After two weeks, I am up 2 pounds on the scale. If there are any other exercises people reccomend going in the rep scheme, let me know.
