My company i relocating me to Atlanta i know they office in in the northern part of Atlanta. can anyone recommend a power lifting gym? or any gym for that matter?

I'm in Roswell, Ga!
I almost always work out at LA Fitness @ Sandy Plains and Hwy 92, but would definitely travel to work out with a motivated female with goals like my own (to have a body like Jamie Eason).
Either way, if you see me at the gym say hello (just not in the middle of my set! i hate that!) and where you know me from.

I promise I'm really nice despite the scary workout faces I make.

lol its funny, i find myself singing to myself usually cause i am concentrating on my workout and i don't even think about the fact that everyone else can hear me. i am pretty sure if there was a Weight Room Idol i would kick some major a$$

omg i do this too and you know you have your music up soooo loud in your ears you dont realize you're pretty much yelling your hum across the gym until you start getting eyeballs glaring at you. lol

I am close to there, visited it a few times. I can't believe the stuff they have in there! I may consider joining when my daughter is old enough to enjoy the pools. Until then, I'll stick with LA Fitness, since they are less expensive and amazingly a bit less fru-fru...

You're right around the corner from me. Which LA Fitness do you go to? I usually hit up the Buckhead location but sometimes the Spring Street location in Midtown.

Atlanta here. Buckhead LA Fitness and surprised I never see anyone from the site there. At least I don't think I do.

I was a regular at Buckhead LA Fitness until I joined Lifetime this year. As I've said before, Lifetime just absolutely blows LA away in every way, except for one. It's too kid-friendly, and the rules against kids in the weight room and hottub areas are not enforced at all. Otherwise, it's the best gym I've ever seen. That's the Lifetime weight room in my avatar.

Lifetime in Alpharetta...I haven't heard of it before this thread. Well, I live in the city and work from home so that gym wouldn't work for me. Actually, there are a few gyms in town better than LA Fitness but one thing LA Fitness has that they don't is locations all over the place and you can go to any one of them. That convenience works for me. Plus, they pretty much have enough of what I need to get a great workout in.

So, what does Lifetime have in it other than the usual? Some others mentioned there is equipment in there that they have never seen.

They have the full range of Hammer Strength MTS, which I use a lot, and also Cybex Arc Trainers, which are the best cardio machines I have used. They also have my favorite treadmills, the LifeFitness with the Flex Decks. I never saw any of those at LA. I didn't like the Precor and StarTrac machines at LA. Lots of other amenities too, like huge hot tubs, pools, wet and dry saunas, towels, self locking lockers, cafe, etc.

There is a Lifetime being built in Buckhead, but I think it will be a while. There are a few more, at Sugarloaf and Johns Creek. I do miss the convenience of the LA Fitness locations, and always being within 10 minutes driving distance of one. The locations and kid-friendliness are huge disadvantages, but I still think Lifetime is great.

I just relocated to Alpharetta about 2 months ago. He he, LA fitness and fru-fru Lifetime Fitness member here as well. I wouldn't be a member of lifetime if it weren't for my strange 2 AM urges to go workout sometimes. Plus well, the LA fitness at windward has various issues.

The climbing wall at lifetime is just awesome.

It sounds like it. When the one in Buckhead is completed I'll have to go check it out. I don't use the cardio machines that much as I'm not much for cardio in the gym but I hear what you're saying. Whenever I've been to another gym I've always noticed nicer cardio equipment. Though LA did just upgrade all their equipment earlier this year so at least's it's all new and in good condition now.
