Well, without seeing your how your equipment is made, it would be hard to say what is the best way to lubricate your Olympic bars.
The reason for saying this is not all bars are made the same.
The cheaper bars do not have any bearings but simply have the sleeve end (2 inch part) held onto the bar by a bolt. This type is easy to grease. You simply take the screw out remove the end plug and pull the sleeve off and grease the shaft of the bar where the sleeve rides and then put it back together just like it came apart.
The next type has lose ball-bearings in the sleeve housing. With this type you have to be careful disassembling it because the ball-bearings will fall out and are very easy to lose. Greasing it is basically the same as the example above with the exception you need to grease the races where the ball-bearings run. Then just put it back like you took it apart.
Another kind has roller-bearings this setup is much like the ball-bearing type but the bearings are made in a unit. This type you simply pack the bearings by placing grease in the palm of your hand and "scooping" the grease into the bearing by dragging the bearings through the grease. Once you have impregnated the bearings you then as always reassemble it just like you took it apart.
Lastly and the best type of bars (these are normally the most costly) have sealed bearings that come from the factory and you never have to do anything to them.
Now that I have most likely just confused the heck out of you and you don't know just what to do. You can always just take some 3-N-1 oil (or motor oil) and just squirt it into each end of the bar sleeve and turn the sleeve a few turns on the bar to work the oil into the joint. This is easy to do and is a tried and true, old stand by, method of doing it yourself.
Good luck.
