Glute shrinkage

I don't know where else to post this.

I have an idea of what happened but was hoping I could get some tid bits.

My glutes have totally shrank and it seems like it happened literally over night...
I had done a hard work out a few days prior for glutes and hams and everything seemed fine. All of a sudden its threes days later and my butt has dramatically shrunk. Its a huge difference!!!!

I figured it was my diet. I was not restricting carbs on purpose but the last few days I stupidly was not eating what I figure enough.

(I eat extremely healthy about 90% of the time if not more... and I have seriously reduced my meat intake to the point to borderline veggie but I have been sharp to keep my protein up with a variety of sources. I'm not carb shy but I avoid refined anything carbs included as much as possible. I have been eating like this for close to 5 months I would say.)

I'm guessing because I had not eaten that much the last few days... But I have never had this happen to me before....
Any suggestions on how I can get it back or will it come back when I get my calories back up?

help.

I wonder if you depleted your glutes? I mean, you used up the glycogen because you said that you trained them really hard. (so basically if your bootie was a water balloon, you used up the water and it sort of deflated).

Then you followed up with no carbs, which normally would fill those muscles back up and give them their 'roundness' back. So now you have not refilled the 'balloon'... which equals the flat and flabby look.

Competitors do this prior to the stage. The deplete their glycogen in the muscles (the stuff I am calling the 'water' in the balloon) with heavy workouts and no or little carbs.

Right before their stage day, they begin to add in the carbs, and the muscles take it back in, and then some (hopefully), for that nice, full muscle look.

I think you may have done a mini version of this?

Either that, or your body used your muscle as fuel, 'eating' the muscle. Atrophy. But it seems like if it happened that fast, it might just be the first explanation?

This would be my best guess, not being a trainer or anything...
