A school of Salmon
What we have here is likened to a School of Salmon, we are all trying to swim against the current towards our goals. It is pretty awesome to think about how much pressure and obsticles they have and yet they continue forward after their goals. Undaunted, only the rest of the school going with them, everything else in nature opposing them. In my head I can almost hear them screaming to support one another as they jump out of the water to for that one moment of escape from the external pressure. C'Mon, this way! Keep moving forward! Nobody rest! Nobody give up! We're almost there! Were almost there!!!!!!
Well Guys, this is our place for support, our moment out of the opposing forces of on coming water. So I say to all of us "C'Mon, this way! Keep moving forward! Nobody rest! Nobody give up! We're almost there! We're almost there!!!!!!"
Had a good workout yesterday, it did not follow along with my plan on high reps yada yada, the gym was way to busy for that type of training. I think I may do a little heavier training on my early week, and my circuit training on my late schedule week so i can lift in the AM. Will probablly help keep my body shocked.
Full body workout on weights, and 30 minutes on stationary bike. Success!

Good morning everyone.. well yesterday i did really well, I was close to eating some chocolates at work but instead i opted for some carots, and brocoli,, and when temptation kept creeping back i had a cup of cereal w milk....I can't wait until those chocolates are gone!!!! I managed to eat clean throughout the day.. I went to the gym and i did chest, tri, and shoulders. my derby practice was cancelled that really sucked!!
I can tell you that today is going to be a challenege i have a derby team dinner to go to and i'm supposed to take some kind of dessert... i figure i'll take a pie. I hope I can manage to only have small portions and skip desert and any side dishes anyone brings. I'll let you know how i do.. Here's some pics that i took last night..

Count me in!!
Hey everyone I'm so ready for this! IN FACT, there was a damn Halloween potluck at my work today and they sat all the goodies...brownies, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin bread, etc. on the desk directly behind me and I had to look at it all day and I didn't touch a single morsel Kudos to me for that!! I'm SO not want to take the before pics and post them on here though! I know pretty much what I need to eat for the most part but I could always use suggestions and new plans to start with. I get so damn sick of eating chicken and fish all the time and I have a massive sweet tooth so it's gonna be tough for me to get back on track...
Thanks everybody!

No lickies or chewies :)
Today is going to be a huge challenge.. I wrote about it in my blog. Anyways I was greeted with a snickers bar on my desk first thing this morning.. I gave it away yay me!! I missed a workout this morning so now I think I am going to use this as my rest day.. I was so tired so I let my body do what it wanted to do
This is what I have done this week
Monday: legs then 15 min stair climber
Tues: back/biceps then 30 min interval run 22 min 2mile and then I walked at incline up to 10 for the rest of the time
Wed: bootcamp.. kicked arse
Thurs: chest/triceps then 2 mile run
Friday: off day
Sat: bootcamp or long cardio
Sun: 3 or 4 mile jog
We are going into the weekend this is when we might be challenged to stick to the plan even more than during the week so stay strong and if you do eat or drink something just make sure you don't go overboard and workout super hard the next day!! Don't beat yourself up if you do make a bad choice but work hard to make only good choices thanks to all of yall joining the challenge.. happy halloween!

Update
Well for the most part this week has been pretty good. I haven't missed any workouts and Sunday is my off day so I will hit to gym tomorrow to. There was one night we went to dinner at my sisters house and that didn't work out so hot for me. They prepare food different than I do ( not in a healthy manner ). Really what are you going to say no I'm not goin to eat that cause the way you prepared it LOL. It tasted awesome though. So I would venture to say that that was my cheat meal hehehe..... any ways. Well just checkin in to let everyone know how things are goin. I need to hit the cardio a little harder tomorrow cause this morning I just wasn't feelin it. I only did 15 min. Well until next time.

Yesterday I did hams and abs.. then it was off to to my team dinner. My derby dinner went well alot of us showed up w our husbands and kids to support us ladies doing roller derby!!!... The dinner menu was spaguetti, salad, garlic bread, wine, followed by dessert. We didn't eat until sometime after 9pm!! and i was so hungry from working out, i'm surprised i didn't have seconds!! LOL..I had one serving of spaguetti, and a big serving of salad, w two peaces of garlic bread,...i couldn't help my self!! BUt, I didn't touch none of the side dishes, dessert, soda or wine.. Yeah for me!! so yeah i didn't fall of the wagon in fact i did pretty well except for the fact that they didn't have water or juice so i had to drink a cup of soda, it was either a cup of wine or tap water, which i resorted to later when i got more thirsty ew... So a big 5 for me for staying strong!!!
today I will probably work on back and bis maybe run if i have time i have a halloween party to go to this everning, i'm going as a sailor girl.. well Happy hallloween everybody, make sure to make time to hit the gym before any halloween parties!!

Update
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to check in and say everything is going pretty smooth so far. Still haven't taken measurements or pics yet though. I'll probably do measurements tonight or tomorrow and post them on my profile. My eating habits have been pretty good. Went out to a late dinner with a friend last night and did a long workout beforehand then drank a protein shake. I purposely asked to go to Texas Roadhouse where I knew I could eat healthier so I passed up those lucious dinner rolls & butter they have there and I opted for a handful of peanuts, I had a plain chicken breast, a garden salad minus the cheese and croutons, and a plain baked sweet potato! I DID have one Michelob Ultra though but overall...I'm not feeling too bad about the whole meal especially since I went and did lifting and cardio right before going out for dinner which is when they say is best to do! Tonight is a straight cardio night for me so I'm choosing to do about 45 minutes to an hour on the Wii FIT tonight! Gotta have some fun Hope everyone had a successful weekend and is ready to hit it hard next week again!
Take care...
Danielle

Easy for Sheasy
This is technically my 14th day of clean eating and I am doing pretty well. I went outta town all yesterday but I plan where I'd be eating. I ordered "plain crappy chicken, plain crappy veggies, and plain crappy rice with the sauce on the side" and that's exactly what I got. I didn't use the sauce- just some low sodium soy sauce. It sucked at first but then it grew on me because I knew this plain crappy food would help me reach my goals. Reaching MY goals is more important to me than eating tasty yet crappy foods!
Workouts are going great. Weight training is kicking my ass so I have not been able to do cardio immediately after. I just do it later or on a different day. I can feel a difference in my arms and my legs.

And so begins week 2.
Had a great week (not perfect, but great nevertheless). I had a teeny serving of hash browns this morning and uh....my body did not like it. I guess when you don't make the best decisions your body reminds you lol.
Anyway, everyone is doing great (even you Atray so stop beating yourself up!). Off to the gym in an hour...

Starting Today!
So I mentioned I was in for this challenge and here I go! I knew this weekend was not going to be a clean one - Halloween and hubby's b-day. I know - I could have done it clean, but I chose not to. So today is THE DAY. And I know what to do, how to do it and when. It just doing IT. Heck, as a personal trainer/wellness coach, I better be busting it up!
Plan for today:
30 min cardio on the eliptical this am
45 min lower body this afternoon - keep track of what I'm doing
Clean eats - steam some brown rice so it's on hand.
Organize my workout info/plan.
Post here and my bodyspace what my w/o was
Monica

week 2.. I hope to make it even better!!!
Last week I did good with my workouts, and i even ran twice 2miles.. I went to the doctors and i'm at 121.. i 'm pretty excited because It takes a long time for me to gain or lose weight. the last tiem i went i was 118, so i'm sure that's not fat becauseI'm starting to see the muscle tone on my legs.. (you bet i'm keeping track!!)
My diet.. l was doing so well, I managed to stay away from the alcohol, and for the most part i managed to stay away from junk food and sweets. I was doing so well until yesterday when my brother came over. we went to a chinese buffet for an early dinner, i'm not going to go into details of what i ate but i will say that i even ate dessert!!
Last night I manged to go for a walk in the evening and when i got home I found my husband in the kitchen baking a chocolate cake... i guess he's trying to fatten me up even though I'm trying my hardest to eat clean.. I've read acouple of your guys blog.. I guess many of us are experiencing the same thing in diffrent ways huh??? well i guess we gotta stay strong and keep aiming for our goals..
I dunno about you guys but i'm sure glad were already in week 2 of the ab challenge.. I for one hope to make it an eve better week for proggress!!!

Glad to hear that you are stoked on your results!!! The scale is the devil when it comes to monitering fat loss!!! The amount of food you eat, soidum levels, water intake... digestive system... Fat:muscle ratio is just too complicated to be interpreted by a scale!!
Good to hear you are seeing.. and better yet FEELING the REsults!! KEEP IT UP!!
I'll be posting progess pictures at the end of this week if you want to follow my journey guys!

It looks like everyone is doing well even with challenges of everyday life.
I'm new to all of this and working out the bugs. I have posted a link on my bodyblog for my personal blog through blogger with a picture of everything I eat to make me accountable. Please feel free to take a look and offer any advice/ideas/suggestions/help I'm open to your ideas and thoughts.
I'm glad that I started this because it will help get me on the right track.

Hola
Glad to see everyone is doing good.. the thing I like is if anyone had a bad day.. we make up for it by exercising and continuing to eat clean.. this is the key.. Rome was not built in a day
This morning I got in 2 miles on treadmill.. I did the HIT
Tonight weights.. monday is legs day!
Sat is so past me.. I am looking forward to nothing but success!

I love this attitude! I always say - yep, I/you've slipped up. Acknowledge it and move on.
Did my 30 mins of cardio and 45 mins of lower body/ab work. It's 4pm and I'm still eating clean. The kids' candy doesn't even appeal to me. Somethin' must be wrong!!! :-) It's the post dinner time that gets me tho. Gotta stay strong. Those cookies aren't gonna make my tummy flat!

I?ve had 3 heart attacks and I have to go to cardio rehab. I also have osteoarthritis in both of my knees and my hips are bad. I have to get one of them replaced.
I?m sitting on the leg curl machine-resting a little too long at this point because of my nosy nature-and I think to myself, ?I hope whatever you?ve eaten and whatever exercise you never did is worth the trouble you?re going through now.?
