Thumbs up Challenge: Unwrap your abs for Christmas

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys and you especially Mr.Kleen73 for the wonderful challenge name

Christmas is in about 62 days slightly less than 9 weeks away!!

So let's think of way to challenge our bodies and minds!

Eat Clean Eat Clean everyday!! In this challenge you can have 2 cheat meals/maybe days and that is all? so basically one cheat day every 30 days.. remember thanksgiving is during this time

Now to the working out part....

We need to exercise 6 times a week and if you double up one day then that can count too

Weight training is a must... minimum 3 times a wk and cardio minimum 3 times a week for at least 30 min

1st picture should be taken this weekend

The plan should start either Sunday Oct 26 or Monday Oct 27?. how does this sound???

The prize is an awesome christmas present to yourself!!!!!!!!!

Rules:

1. Everyone has to commit to post at least twice a week with some type of update to hold each other accountable i.e when we eat bad outside of the 2cheat meals/days or miss the 6 wkouts for the week. We have to document it in the blog for everyone to see and put us back in check and offer support or alternative ideas.
2. Post 4 full body shots every 3 weeks(this will total 3 pics for the 9 wks) in our progress areas and notify via the blog that it is out there for others to see.

Oh yeah, I am soooooo in! Was going to look for one, what if we did 4 pics evrey 2 weeks all full body like Relaxed front, relaxed rear, front dbl bicep, and rear double bicep. It will give us a total picture of all areas of the body and development. We all lose fat in different areas and some may see more improvement from one shot to another.

Yeah, I was more refering to having multiple poses at each picture session to show the progress more. YOu know sometimes one picture wont show something but the next shot you see a world of difference. I guess really though as long as you post something up you are doing great. 2-3 weeks in between is great. Oh yeah, THANKS!!!!!!! Needed someone to step up and get something going.

Ah yeah!

This is great, I'm so looking forward to it. Tomorrow I'll be ironing out my master plan (mwah ha ha ha haaaaaaaa!) and getting my food list together.

My two cents:

1) I think taking pictures every 2-3 weeks is key. There's nothing like visual affirmation to get you going. However, those who can't take pics should know that measurements are just as good.

2)Should our first challenge blog be about our goals, what we hope to accomplish within these 9 weeks? I'm not talking necessarily about just dropping lbs because a goal is a a goal, no matter how big or small. Sometimes we need a reminder.

I'd love to do this, but even with eating clean I doubt I'd improve my abs as I'm in the middle of a heavy bulk, I'm cutting after christmas though!

My Before pics Goals and what not

I took my pics on Saturday which was probably a bad idea because I ate like a pig yesterday. LOL One last hoorah! My goals are to get down between 190 and 185 lean but carrying a lot of muscle. I weigh in at 202 right now so I think it is doable. I am going to be doing a light weight high volume full body lifting circuit for my weight lifting 3 times a week, that will double as cardio on those days. The days in between I will be doing cardio and my martial arts. I will have a high activity level so this will be the extent of my training. Follow a high protein, mod car and fat diet between 2200-2600 cals a day.

My other goals are to increase speed and anaerobic endurance.

Talking Start date is today, every day!

Hey everybody, I see a couple questions regarding start dates. The moment you stumble across this and choose to do it is your start date. All late comers welcome. Only you can earn your prize so no one else can discount it due to a late start. GET ON WIT YO GET ON!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was nice, kept calories low,today I is a weights day. This is my early week at work so cardio in the morning just aint happening. LOL I am at work by 6:15AM this week. I get off at 3 then go to the gym, then food, maybe short nap, and then Martial Arts time followed by geuss what... YUP Food again!

Today is my day off from the gym, since i broke my diet this weekend i though i should atleast go before my nite class and get a good workout..I did legs Awesome workout!!! ..so today is my day off but i will go runing this evening and do abs. HAve a good one everyone!!!
oh yeah i will post my pics tonight after my run..

here's my leg workout-
lunges 3x15x15
leg extensions 1x45x12 3x50x12
cable kickbacks 3x12x12
step ups 3x15x20
leg press 4x50x12
hack squat 3x20x10
squats on smith machine 3x30x12
walked home, 5m cool down.

Today's update!!

Yesterday was a great day! I did awesome on my diet and worked my tail off at the gym. My abs are still sore!! lol.... I was doing good, but then today.. lol... ok, so I slipped a little... but I caught myself. A lady at work bought me a cake and it was going to be rude if I didn't eat some of it. So I took 3 bites and told her about the challenge and saved the rest of the cake for my daughter!! lol... So- when I hit the gym after work... I will do a little extra to make up for that cake!! haha... Maybe a 1000 jumping jacks...!!! Anyways.. here are my pics... I'm lean in my arms and legs. It's my torso that needs work. I know it's mainly diet, but any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I couldn't load this pics in here so I'll put them on my page! Good luck to us all!! No choice but success!!

Talking YAY Everyone

I am so glad you all are taking part of this challenge with me this is so motivatin. Last night I did legs and only 15 min stair climber machine but tonight is back/biceps and then 30 to 45 min on treadmill... so far so good with the eating... there was pizza in the office and I did not even look at it for more than 10 secs .. Have a great day yall!!

Well todays workout was great. It was quiet in the gym and no one to work around LOL. I love those days. I worked back and bi's and did 25 min of cardio which was jogging the track and running the bleachers which is my fave. I have done pretty well on my nutrition today and yesterday so it's all good heheheh..... I like that we have to account for our workouts and nutrition to others it's more motivating and easier to stay on track. Keep up the great work everyone.

Didn't find this until now but I have eaten clean for 8 big days now and have also stuck with my workouts.

An ass whupping!

Hi guys! A great day today (even if I was a bit hungry....ok, A LOT hungry). My coworker/personal trainer has me doing a different program every single day to keep my body guessing. Before his help I was doing a 5x5 program (heavy weights, low reps), and minimal cardio. He's changed it around completely. In fact I'm posting my workout this morning here for those of you looking for something different. Try it and then slither out of the gym exhausted, lol!

10 minutes of stretching (arms, back, legs)
25 minutes on the elliptical machine (moderate to fast)
100 jumping jacks, rotating clockwise every 25 reps.
20 minutes on the treadmill, fast walking on an incline.
5 minutes dumbbell curl into a shoulder press and back down. light weight.
15 minutes on the elliptical machine. (moderate to fast)
100 jumping jacks
1 set on the leg press machine, medium weight, to failure.

Total of an estimated hour and a half. No rest in between at all.

I laughed when I saw this...and I ate my words after I was done. On the diet side things are clean and good and I still want a cookie. Oh well lol.
