Not really......

I've always suggested to people to keep supplements, and the brands....revolving. Try different things, switch it up, much like the training....stagnation will yield fewer results.

How can one keep their motivation and not deviate from their diet/exercise regimen?

What's the best way in your opinion?

Bob one question for you that i havent been able to figure out:

If slow cardio lets the body use fats for fuel instead of carbs then why is it necessary to do cardio first thing in the morning when carbs are depleted? If the body goes after fats only in slow cardio then why does it matter if you have 400g of carbs in your body as compared to 100g? So shouldnt it be just as effective no matter when you do it?

It's not "necessary", it's optimum...

The body will be even more willing to give up fats in the absense of carbs, thus providing the highest fat buring ratio....the body is very carb-sparing/ storing.

One keeps their motivation for a whole variety of reasons....competition, personal goal, etc....

Cant teach motivation...you either have it or you don't.

bob, what trends have you noticed when it comes to the training of pro bodybuilders.

in regards to ,for example: workout days per week, how often a muscle group is worked, number of sets, exercise selection etc

what common things have you noticed?

ProCard and workng VISA to US

Hi there, and thanks for reading

One quick questions, do you know if a European Bodybuilder can move and work in US only with the Pro Card? Normally a working contract is needed to get a working VISA to the US, but I was wondering if with the IFBB procard is enough.

Thanks a lot!

Time between shows

How much time is best between shows. Im trying to gain a little mass and then cut it back down maybe 3.5 months getting some size on and then 2.5 months precontest dieting. I was 143.6 the day of my show (NPC Natural Northern USA - Bantam) and I want to get up in the lightweights. Any ideas how high my weight get should up to? How long between shows is best?

You need to take a solid year of training, no dieting, no cardio......if you want to have a good shot of moving up a class.

What your weight gets up to is mostly irrelevant, as weight doesnt necessarily equate into solid muscle gain....what you need is TIME...time in the gym, time to grow and mature into the next class...

Thanks a lot!

Rafa

I'm not sure JUST a pro card is enough...I believe you need to establish an income through a contract, or company, etc...

I've written many letters for IFBB athletes, as best as I can remember....all of them needed income verification from an additional source.

ya, that is interesting that you said that....I have talked to IA through email and am thinking of asking him to help me diet down. I am a really big fan of IA. He definately seems like a nice guy. And very respectable that he shares as much of his ideas that he does.

hey bob, In regards to bench pressing of all sorts, would u suggest lowering the weight very low as to stretch your pecs or what?

I've been going pretty damn low and then about 3 quarters of the way up.

I've heard this can take the stress of the pecs and put it on the delts.

thanks

Cardio etc

Hi Bob,

I'm writing from Pakistan - besides the craziness you see and hear on television regarding the country - 99.99% of the people are fun loving and more and more are getting into health and fitness. Many of us who are actually into bodybuilding and are general gym rats enjoy reading up on your point of view on this forum and some of us were up at 6:00am to see the Mr. Olympia live feed (please tell the "powers that be" to improve the live feed....it got painful a few times because it took so long for the picture to come back on)

Q1 - Where did you learn to speak like a professional MC? You really have a voice that carries - did you actually take acting/vocal classes? Its pretty impressive.

My friends and I are trying to figure out this whole slow vs. HIIT cardio debate. In your opinion slow cardio is what mostly attacks fat vs HIIT, and given that pretty much all the bodybuilders on the planet follow the slow version, it is reasonable to assume that there must be truth in that statement. Please do correct me if I am misstating something in the above sentence.

Q2 - So, my question to you is then what should one do about cardiovascular fitness?

I weigh about 220 and need to cut back by about 40lbs...which I have started and should be able to achieve in the next three to four months...slow cardio 3 to 4 days a week, 40 minutes each time combined with high protein low carb diet (and tons of fibre....man is that necessary or what???).

But does cardiovascular fitness improve with slow cardio or do I need to throw in some running or HIIT type training to improve my cardiovascular fitness and stamina.

That's it for now.

Thanks

Omar

Tom Prince...without question. Meticulous would be an understatement! Talk about the "science" of bodybuilding...this guy was like a mad scientist...every gram accounted for, every set and rep, every ounce, etc, etc....

There was nothing Tom did that was "because he felt like it", or any other reason other than....it was logical and figured out to the nearest.....0000000.1

Hi BOB: What`s the difference between Whey proteins and WPI? One more thing: today I met Dennis Wolf in Perth (Australia) I made a short video with him on youtube (Dennis Wolf helpful suggests) and I got more confused about the supplements, I used to follow Jay Cutler suggests but he sponsored by Muscle Tech, so I dont know if it`s better take the NANo Vapor or MASS Explosion...I guess it`s a matter of marketing, right?
