Eggs make me wanna die.
Right now my keto diet starts with 3 eggs for breakfast. For some reason, i can't handle the smell of eggs first thing in the morning, yet i've just sucked it up and made those bastards. When i was in Iraq recently i ate a TON of eggs, but for some reason i'm having trouble eating them every day. Is there something I could sub in for breakfast a couple times a week just to switch it up? Here is my current diet, i'm trying to keep the marcos about the same. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!!
Meal 1:
3 large eggs (the omega-3 kind)
2 slices of bacon
1/4 cup shredded cheese
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1 cup black coffee
Meal 2:
1 Polly-O Stringcheese
1 Kraft Extra Sharp Chessestick
Meal 3:
3oz Ground Beef (80/20)
3 cups spinach
1/4 cup shredded cheese
2 Tbsp Asiago Peppercorn dressing
Meal 4:
Can of Tuna (sub in 2 scoops of Whey if meal 4 is PWO)
Meal 5:
2 tsp natural PB
1oz raw almonds
Meal 6:
Can of Tuna
4oz cream cheese
1/4 cup heavy cream
(the cream cheese and heavy cream are part of a keto recipe i found on here that uses some sugar free jello mix with it. Seems like it'll be pretty good!)
Macros came out like this:
Totals:
2290 calories
165g Fat (65.4%)
173g Protein (30.5%)
24g Carbs (4.1%)

I've found cheese to be a good substitute. Macros are almost identical, what I usually get is the string cheese from Costco.

You can have beef, chicken, tuna, cheese, nuts...hell, why limit yourself. Eat anything that's on the list of allowed keto foods that you like. I think beef for breakfast rocks, and I prefer omelettes for dinner. Go figure.

Breakfast for dinner and dinner for breakfast, it does not matter. I bbq every few weeks and always make enough to freeze in meal-size ziplocks. It is really nice to go into the kitchen at 5am and be able to grab a bag of bbq pork roast or some hamburger and pop it in the microwave instead of making eggs.
If I am really tired or sleepy, I will make a multi-shot expresso protein shake with either PB or a few berries and cinnamon. This does not keep me going more than a few hours so I make sure I supplement with a mid-morning meal.
It helps to change it up IMHO...........SV

I definitely load up on cheese. Think i could throw garlic in it or something? Maybe like 1 clove? I love the smell and taste of garlic, and hopefully the smell of that will over power the smell of the eggs. Whaddayathink??

It helps me Tony, I will throw some onion and garlic in olive oil until the onion turns clear and then add the eggs. I also scamble the eggs and when they are almost done I put cheese around the edge of the pan until it gets crisp and then fold it into the eggs. I also reverse the ratio, instead of 3 eggs and a 1/4 cup of elk sausage, I will have 1 cup of elk sausage with 1 egg.
BTW, thanks for kicking ass in Iraq!

I saute up big batches of chopped onions and peppers and use about 1 tablespoon everyday in my eggs. It's maybe 1 net carb for such a small amount and it goes really well with the egg and melted cheese.

^^THIS pix made me want to vomit Honestly..OP, same thing happened to me. I used to eat eggs everyday...then suddenly...just to see, smell or be anywhere near one makes me wanna...well...haul oats!
I dont/can't eat them anymore...so I just have leftover dinner for breakfast. There's no rule that says you MUST eat eggs. Protein is protein...there's no "magic" ingredient in eggs so you can get this protein from any food source.
Blaaahhh...can't take that pic anymore...I'm outie

First off, thank you for your comments. It's an honor to serve!
Secondly, i currently have a fresh onion, green pepper, garlic, and mushrooms just sitting in my fridge. I think i was worried to use any of them because of sugar content, but you all think just a tablespoon in 3 eggs would be harmless?? Of course I'll still be loading up cheese!
Also, i may investigate eating 'leftovers' for breakfast if i ever manage to keep any

Just as a side note - I can sometimes hold down a boiled egg...egg salad or egg foo yung from the chinese store. But it's not always certain...never know when I'm just going to upchuck.
Also, sometimes (especially when I'm in a hurry), I'll just eat an Atkins Choco Peanut Butter Protein Bar. It only has 2 grams of carbs and something like 15 or 18 grams of protein...tons of fiber and it fills you up with a 20 oz bottle of water. I'm good until at least 12pm after that.
Lastly, but not least-ly...I just made this KETO Cheesecake with Whey Protein...it's awesome and I like that in the a.m. too High Fat/High Protein...almost NO carbs. The recipe is real simple...3 scoops vanilla zero carb whey protein, 1 .3oz packet of your favorite Jello (lemon, strawberry, etc.), 1 cup boiling hot water, 1 8oz package of cream cheese...mix well and chill overnight...oooooohhh so rich and creamy, top with Rediwhip...devine

You're almost right. Egg protein (albumin) is one of the most bioavailable proteins there is, and it is closer to the ideal amino acid profile for humans than most other foods, even many meats. Gram for gram, egg protein really is better for you than most other proteins. (Not that it's the end of the world if you don't eat eggs, but if efficiency is your game, you can't go wrong with eggs.)

By the way, I sympathize with those who start to hate eggs after a while, but I found a great new way to cook them that has made them appetizing for me once again.
Actually, it's not new to the world, but it will be new to most Americans. It's the French way of cooking scrambled eggs. It takes advantage of the fact that the proteins denature differently when the eggs are cooked very slowly.
Beat about 1 T. of heavy cream per egg. At this point I also throw in a dash of salt, a grind of pepper, and some dried chives. Cook them in plenty of butter over low heat, stirring almost constantly, so that they slowly scramble over 15 to 20 minutes. When they are fully cooked but still very moist, mix in some sour cream and, if you want, a little more butter.
The thing is, unlike typical scrambled eggs, which cook quickly and end up spongy and dry, these scrambled eggs will be moist and creamy. I swear, if you fed them to someone without telling them they were eggs, they'd probably think they were a really, really soft, spreadable cheese or something.
You can eat them just like this, but I like to spread them on soy crackers or dip pork rinds into them. They're more like a rich, creamy spread than like eggs. An extra yolk for every 3 or 4 eggs makes them even creamier, or you can mix in some finely-diced cheese for extra flavor and heartiness.
I think they're worth the extra effort and eat them at least twice a week this way.

When I get tired of hard boiled eggs in the morning, or I don't have time to boil or fry, I'll make a quick omelette in the microwave.
Take a few eggs, scamble them, add garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, tablespoon of heavy cream, and some vegetables such as a tomato, mushrooms, or spinach, and mix it all together. Put it in the microwave for about 3-4 minutes, and then dump a bunch of cheese on top and microwave for another 30 seconds or a minute. Instant omelette.

Well...donno about the OP, but for me..it's not about just being "tired" of eggs or not liking them. That would be a simple fix then...since I'm a pretty good cook No, but it's some time of intolerance many people develop to eggs at a certain age. Donno why this happens, but I've heard of many who complain of the same thing...ie nasea, vommiting, etc. at even the smell of an egg! It happened to me when I was about 31 yrs old. Up until then eggs were a staple to my diet. I ate them every morning for breakfast. Then suddenly, came the illness. About a year ago...I tried making an egg omlet...just to see if it was mental. Before I could finish half the omlet...blaaaahhhh...all over the freaking place (projectile). It's definately something more to this. Will do some research and post.

So that is the French way huh? Who knew? I call them bachelor eggs cause I also just crack the egg into the fry pan. the kids love em. Sometimes they actually ask for bachelor eggs, (bachelor being code for I am lazy) I have to be careful though my eldest has to have the fat/egg ratio just right.
For the OP, I have sausages, and sometimes meat patties for brekkie, sometimes I just have coffee heavy with cream and wait for lunch.
Also an easy cook for brekkie is pork sliced like bacon mixed with melted butter, olive oil and soy sauce, fries up just as quick as eggs and is great. I also add some chili pepper as well.
If I really want to add egg to that sometimes I soft fry the egg and drop it over the pork, let the yolk run through, also tastes great.

I got the recipe from a French cookbook, and it was accompanied by an article about how the French cook them this way because they hate dry eggs, so I call it "the French way". However, I'm sure they're not the only ones eating them this way.
I've got another great egg recipe for anyone willing to go through a little trouble to make their eggs absolutely delicious:
Slice some leeks into thin rings and sautee them in plenty of butter until they're soft. Add a little heavy cream, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg and continue cooking for a minute or two until it's thick. Spoon the cooked leeks into ramikins (little ceramic baking dishes). Break one egg on top of the leeks in each ramikin (don't break the yolk). Top each one with a tablespoon of heavy cream. Place the ramikins in a baking dish filled with about 1/2 inch of hot water. Bake for 10-12 minutes in a 350-degree oven. Serve the ramikins like little casseroles.
The cooked leaks and nutmeg add a little non-sugary sweetness. The butter and cream make it satisfying. The egg is moist and creamy this way and adds wholesome protein. Altogether it's a really yummy way to eat an egg. If you don't cook, then this is probably too much trouble, but if you do cook, then you probably recognize that this really isn't very hard.

lotsa Tobasco or other hot sauce...along with cheese, it makes eggs taste DIVINE!!!!!
It's weird, though...I eat 4 egg whites and 1 whole egg every single morning...and have for the past 3 months or so...and I'm actually NOT SICK of them. I don't add ANYTHING....just a tiny bit of salt and pepper. The last time I dieted down for comp I couldn't stomach the thought of eating any more eggs...
Maybe it's the KETO? This is my first time doing it...so maybe my body craves eggs now? who knows. lol

Well I definitely don't have an intolerance to eggs in any way, its just something i get easily tired of and balk at the smell of first thing in the morning. I'm thinking of giving the french eggs a shot. With something like an egg, you'd think there would be like a million ways to make it, right? Unfortuntely I only know of like 4 or 5 lol
