Frustrating belly fat!!!
Hey guys,
I have embarked on a healthy lifestyle and have been doing steady cardio and weights for around 6-7 months now.
I have had quite a lot of success and my arms and chest have grown quite a bit of muscle and have become quite shreded now. but my belly still won't loose that pregnant look which is becoming quite frustrating now it's even got to the point i can see my seratus muscles(not sure if thats the right name its the small cuts at the ribs) but still have the belly (looks quite odd!!). I know that i'm almost there and have to keep going but i though i'd have more of an all round fat loss and not such an irregular loss.
I'm doing all the right things as far as i can tell i'm 160 pounds(30 pounds lost so far) and am consuming a steady 1800 calories a day and getting around 120/130 grams of protien a day. I'm doing on average a hour running a day and my nike plus equates that to 1000 calories. and i'm doing around 4/5 days lifting.
just suppose i'm having a rant but if there is anything anyone can think of i'm missing i'd appreciate the help.
many thanks
John

fat loss
Not to "beat a dead horse," but you need to train them to see them. However, and don't get to caught up in this and make it over complex, but have you tried lets not call it cutting, but reducing your carbs after lunch and eliminating them before bed? Dont get into any of these no carb diets, but fluctuate the amounts your taking in and discover for yourself how many carbs you need vs. what you take, and stick to what gives you the energy you need to work out, nothing more.

yeah i am training them.
i'm doing weighted crunches, leg raises, crunches with a twist and on the lat machine at the gym with a set of ropes(not sure of the name). i also know it's not a weights training issue and is definatly down to fat.
i thought when i started this i would loose evenly over my whole body and not loose all the fat off my arms and legs whilst keeping the same size belly.
would cutting carbs completely on say two out of seven days help or should i just cut carbs down more over the week.

What's wrong with "those no carb diets"?
They actually work quite well, and alot of people experience a much better overall fatloss. Not just from areas like arms first.
Now I don't recommend a completely (literal) "0" carb diet. But Keto diets work fantastically well.

You need carbs for fuel to work out. Keto is a great short term program, but not something you'd want to be on as a lifestyle change - unless you have an incredible sense of commitment and lot of time to eat right at the right times.

yeah, keto diets are very good if you have self control (lol..theres a lot of people who go on them and go ape**** on carb-up weekeneds)
to op : can you post some pics? and i think your calories may be too low, you could try upping them by 400
you could try adding green tea/caffeine to your supplements

I think this is a common misconception about Keto Diets.
If you go into the Keto section you will see that most refer to Keto AS a lifestyle, not just a diet. You actually have just as much if not more energy on a Keto diet than a high carb diet once your body adapts to using fat as fuel.
Also you do carb-ups weekly to also help in preventing energy loss.
You don't really need an incredible amount of commitment to be on a keto diet. Most people agree that it's actually easier to stay on a keto diet. The only thing about "eating right at the right times" would be eat alot of carbs for 24-36hrs every 7-10 days. It's not really that hard.
I have been on a Keto diet for going on 4 weeks now and I must say it's fantastic. I do not have any energy crashes throughout the day due to insulin spikes/drops. My workouts are just as intense if not more-so. Also Keto diets are showing to be MUCH more forgiving than the "normal" diet. Allowing for more calories and the same if not more weight-loss. It's actually quite amazing.
Anyways, Keto works, you feel great, and I see NO hinderance on my energy.

I bet you're probably doing okay. Have you measured your waist and belly or taken photos? It's possible that you have lost some size there but it has gone unnoticed because of slow progression. My weight loss has def moved from the outer limbs in, but I'm still fighting the stomach.
