1 week out, show gets cancelled
The title pretty much explains the whole situation.
20 weeks of cutting, missing out on the 21st birthday and the rest of fun stuff... all for nothing.
Thanks, INBF.

That sucks. Maybe you can find another show not too far away and not too long.

That is horrible. I would never compete with an organization again that allowed that to happen. Try to find another show even if you have to travel a little more. Don't waste the effort you have put in.Good luck.

So sorry to hear this man. Would be devastated in your position. This is partly why i choose to compete during the peak of the competition season in the NPC. Makes it easy to find a warmup show while also leaving alternatives if something like this were to happen.
Perhaps you could look into some other organizations that might have some shows remaining before too long. Hell, even if it were an untested show it would still put all this hard work you've done to some use...

I agree, I myself was going to enter an INBF show in 2005 and it got cancelled 2 weeks from the date. I went ahead and found an NPC show and wen ahead and did and placed 4th out of 9. After this I had a bad taste in my mouth and ever since I have been doing NPC shows...
I have not done bad either

INBF is ok... they aren't as competitor friendly as something like the OCB. But any show really just depends on the promotors. Some promotors do half ass jobs and simply don't get it done. It's always a good idea to email the promotor every month to make sure the show is still on.
Thread starter, I'm really sorry about this... it's really terrible. Can't imagine how you feel.
have you looked to see if there is an NPC show near you?

Thank you all. I appreciate all the kind words.
I couldn't find any shows that are close, both tested and non-tested.
I'm thinking of just taking some pics to have a reference of what level of conditioning I'll have to beat the next time I compete. (Yes, this time in OCB!).
Anyway, hopefully this crap will not happen to any of you. So don't make the same mistake that I did and make sure to have a BACKUP PLAN. Especially now, that everybody is freaking out about the recession.
Oh well, I guess it's clean bulk time.

The ABA/INBF delayed their show in Indiana from May to September. Fortunately the folks who had planned to do the comp had the OCB Circle City available just a few weeks earlier, so many did that comp instead, making it the largest natural show ever in Indiana.
ABA also scrubbed a show in Kentucky, without much notice.
See my thread-- Is the ABA a Joke?

that's true... some choose not to compete their as they'd rather not participate in the activities required to be competitive on a national level. That's not a knock on those who do. Just different for different people
and yes, the NPC has cancelled shows on short notice as well

Yes, and the only reason I do NPC shows exclusively is because that's all we have here. I can't travel as I have a young family and we are not in a situation (financial or otherwise) to do that. i would love to compete in a strictly natural organization. However, I will say the promoter in Colorado does his best to screen people, but they almost always slip through. The testing (natural, yeah right) at the national level is a joke.
I hope to someday compete in a show other than the NPC, as a drug free competitor.

You are correct--it is in NM. Depending on where you are in CO, it could be close. Still several hours for me though.
