Oh come on man.
The hate towards Cutler is based on two things:
1. The fact that he didn't really look all that great for either of his Olympias. Most agree he did not deserve the second. And the first was underwhelming insofar as he was not his best and won primarily because he was less off than Ronnie was.
2. He's made a number of dumb statements. For example, after he was handed the gift of a second Sandow trophy, he made a speech about how he was the greatest bodybuilder on the planet. When you win such a close contest, and the closeness was predicated on you not looking anywhere near your best, a little humility is called for.
Also, there is the whole "All-American" look thing. He repeated it several times. It is kind of annoying, and I wouldn't blame anyone who doesn't have blonde hair, blue eyes, and white skin for finding it annoying. I'm not comparing him to David Duke or anything, but it is a dumb thing to say -- like when Ted Danson did Blackface at the Friars Club, it wasn't evil, just retarded and annoying.
Also, he keeps flaunting his wealth. He released a lifestyles of the rich and famous like video of his new home, and gives a tour of his new house anytime a camera comes within 50 feet of it. We get it, he has a ton of cash. I'm glad to see that the Hata Blocker sunglasses have managed to finance a toilet that sprays your ass down after you take a ****.
Also, he seems to be living in denial about his blockiness. Sometimes he acknowledges it, but sometimes he acts like we are all crazy for suggesting that maybe his abs aren't the greatest, or that he lacks a great V-shape.
All in all, I could see why people would be glad to see him lose. It's not like we HATE the man and wish him and his family ill (like we do King Kamali, for example), he just isn't a very sympathetic figure.

Destined to happen. Jay's always taken a lot of heat from people who don't know much about him personally. He expresses frustration for not beating Coleman in past Olympias, people accuse him of whining. He narrowly wins last year, people call him lucky and overrated. He speaks with confidence about '08, people call him cocky and arrogant. Now that he's not on top anymore, his haters see the perfect opp to step up and say "I told you so!", as though they know anything about him or, indeed, about Olympia judging at all.
Jay's still #2, making him the second best bodybuilder in the world according to the people officially appointed to make that distinction. 2nd best in the world is far better than most of his critics will ever be.
More importantly, though, the Jay hate posts (the real hateful ones, not the fair critiques) speak volumes about the people writing them. Instead of celebrating Dexter's win or Phil Heath's impressive 3rd place debut, these folks are preoccupied with Cutler's "failure". I like to think of the Olympia as an event synonymous with winning and success, not with losing and not living up to expectations. After all, bodybuilding is all about believing you can be better than you are, not dwelling on how you've fallen short in the past IMHO.

X 2
Funny how some celebrate a good competitor's meteoric rise to #3 by bashing the guy who got #2 and has previously won even before that. I doubt if even Phil would approve of that.

I just finished watching the replay of prejudging where Jay did his mandatories. He didn't lok bad at all. He was sharper and fuller than last year by quit a bit but not quite as dry as in 06. He was definitely in condition though, and I stand by previous statements that he was on par with 06 (except now after watching I say he's on par but not quite as dry), and then in the finals he maintained that fullness but dropped to water to come in much drier.

i dont think many people are really HATING on him. most bbing fans who "HATE" on jay, are really just hating on the mass monster physique that has been prevelant these past few years. jay really does not sport an aesthetically pleasing physique...at all. i would be bold enough to say that he has one of the worst midsections in the entire IFBB....but somehow he has won 2 olympias.
i'm a fan of jay's in the sense that i admire his incredible work ethic, and his arnold-like success in the business of bbing. hes also apparently a great guy to speak with, and a very humble top tier athlete. but his physique does not completely represent the ideals of bodybuilding. people began to "hate" on him at the spark of the Olympia out of fear that he would unrightfully win again.
no hate on jay, but i really dont like the guys physique. i dont think he belonged in the top 5, let alone #2.

When you're on top you're a target. Now that he has lost the title, the naysayers will eventually lose some of their steam. Of course as long as he stays in the game he'll be a target to some extent. There will always be people with strong opinions about one type of physique or another and some who will just always despise him just as there will be some who will always love him, no matter what. But now that he's no longer number one, it should cool off a little, given time.

The only pose that Jay Cutler can hit with authority over the other competitors is the rear lat spread.
Jay is a great champion and a great competitor, but this year he was not good enough to maintain his grip on the Olympia.
The real battle for the olympia throne in the immediate future is DEX,WOLF,KAI,HEATH....and possibly freeman.
It was a great show and i would even have Phil ahead of Cutler.

If Victor can bring his leg up to his upper body then he can be a threat too. I dunno how he's gonna be with his patella tendon tear but hopefully he has enough in him to bring a good package next year.

I find the Jay hate very comical. How long before we see a thread "I had Jay out of the top 16".
I don't like the direction Jay took his physique. I respect his work ethic greatly, but ill still bash him for his career decisions.
He put on way too much bone structure. And thats permanent. He can't trim down. His hips and waist thickness are for life.
That waist is PURE bone and hips. Jay has 50 inch hips.
oh by the way, I have around a 41 inch waist, pure structure no fat. Sorry to break it to you guys, but Jay's waist is AT LEAST 45-48 inches and that might be being nice.
lol @ some guy who said Jay's waist is 38 inches. I wish.

The HGH is ruining these guys bodies and the slin ain't helping either. The IGF-1 is wreaking havoc on their intestines. It's killing the sport and shortening their careers.
