I am so sorry to hear of the changes. I will keep you and your family in prayer. Little Brooklyn may still throw us all a surprise. I will pray that she does not suffer. The little ones are the strongest. Please take care of yourself and know that you have done what you can. It is clear the love you have for Brooklyn and her parents. That is the most anyone could ask for. Take care and God Bless. Your compassion is amazing. Who is taking care of Kimberly? Don't forget about you.

I will be okay, I just ache for the pain I know they are going through.
Brooklyn passed an hour after they removed the ventilator.
That hour gave all that desired to hold her, the chance to finally have her close.
They had not been able to hold her prior to that.
I know they took many photos of her and I hope that in time they will share the photos with us.
Thank you all for your words/prayers/thoughts.
I appreciate it more than I can adequately convey right now.

Sometimes fewer words say more, and help more, than greater...and show that you DO understand what it's like.

Chris decided to fly out there alone. He will leave on Friday and return on Sunday. (the funeral is on Saturday).
We were able to find a flight for half the price of the first flight we found.
That is great.
I also have a lady from church that will watch the kiddos while I work this weekend.
Only issue is me being alone when I am home... I have not been home alone in over 21 years!
I am sure I will be just fine.

Home alone
I am the same way-hardly ever home alone. But really how can you be home alone with all of us online. We are all praying for you. If you need to chat PM me. Hope you are taking care of yourself. Glad, Chris is going to be their for the family. They will miss you I am sure. Whenever I am stuck on call when the family is somewhere else, I almost always have some profound case that tells me I am where I am supposed to be. I hope the time passes quickly for you. Take care and prayers are with you.

Kimberly...I am so sorry to hear that. I saw where you had posted this and sent you a message thru tellin you that you were all on our prayer list. I had no idea things took a turn for the worse. I will keep praying for you and you will be fine this weekend. Like tomdana said...your not alone when all of us are here for you. You know how to get a hold of me if you need to!

Thank you so much (And Brian too!)
Chris left a few minutes ago, the kiddos will be off to school in a few minutes...
*sigh*
Chris HATES to fly... and he does not drink, so he can not just get tipsy like I would
I may have to pop in here to make the time go by faster.
We will all drive to Iowa in 2 weeks. I spoke to Lisa (Brooklyn's mom) yesterday and she said she is looking forward to my coming, she knows I have been in her shoes and can uniquely understand her loss.
I apologized to her for all the stupid crap other folks will say to her.

Chris is home.
He said that their church had TWO babies die of heart problems on the same day and the funerals were on the same day! (small town in Iowa, what are the odds?)
He did enjoy our 2 nieces and got some adorable videos/pics. We will be out there in a week. We will drive out next Saturday and then fly home 8 days later. (giving our old car to my son's girlfriend's family).
We decided that sleeping in seperate states is NOT our style.

Brooklyn Elizabeth P, infant daughter of Jeff and Lisa P was born September 13, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Brooklyn's strong will to live kept her with her family for ten days. She went home to heaven while in her mommy and daddy's arms and surrounded by her loving family on September 23, 2008.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 27th at St. John's Catholic Church in Norwalk with burial following at Norwalk Cemetery. Brooklyn's family will greet friends Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home.
