I did another 30 minutes on the treadmill yesterday. 2.1 miles, 300+ cals burned.
PT went great. I am getting ROM increases with every trip. I told the PT to do whatever he needs to to get me back to 100% ROM. I told him I'll deal with the pain and discomfort...and he won't hear any complaints from me. Just throw some ice on my shoulder when we are done and I'll be fine. There is a narrow window for getting full ROM back...I'm not going to let that window go by.

That's a great attitude man. A buddy of mine is a SC and also does some PT work. He says that most people screw themselves b/c they can't deal with a bit of discomfort.

PT for the first time in 10 days yesterday. Felt like something let go.
I've been icing a lot and I have some more than normal pain. We'll see how it feels over the next couple days. PT again tomorrow.

I had no idea that such would be the case. I'm glad that you're being proactive to get what you need out of the PT. Hopefully the pain today will turn out to just be from getting back to it after being away.

I had PT again this morning. I had a lot more discomfort today...not a good sign. Still did all the stretching and a little weight work..5 lbs for shoulder and tricep work. Just worked through the pain.
I had them test my grip strength today too. I am off the charts with my right hand...the measuring tool doesn't go that high. My right hand is way above average, but nothing close to my left yet. I was the first person to go beyond the capability of their grip strength monitor.

Thanks guys.
The hunt for a real job is on. I won't accept any $$ for what I'm doing now untill I'm employed somewhere else full time.
Sweet...Keep working at it!

Thanks bD.
I'm not going to get too excited about the Bears yet...especially after they gave up two big leads. Orton is coming along, but has a lot of development to go yet. I have to say, it is nice to be back to winning a few games. I think they will only get stronger as the year goes on...injuries aside.
I tested my grip on the #1.5 CoC gripper today.
24 closes with my left, 18 closes with my right.
PT went great today. The PT really works my arm hard and the pain can be pretty bad, but I just tell him to keep stretching the shoulder. I won't complain as long as I get my ROM back. I had a lot more pain last week than I've had in the last couple weeks...but I'm back on track now.

PT went well yesterday. I'm still getting increases in ROM every time I go. The PT increased the weight on DB Chest Presses to 12 lbs. I also did some internal rotations with an elastic band. Progress is slow, slow, slow..but it has to be that way to avoid tearing everything up again.

HL,
I hope your rehab is going well. Be patient and be smart. Remember that I had shoulder surgery last year and I won the overhead event at the Nationals this past weekend. Set a new American record!
Check out my new journal, buddy! I will be around more now that the season is over for me.

Thanks MS.
Rehab is going fine...just really slow. The PT says I am way ahead of where a person would normally be after having all of the work done that I had done. I have a long way to go to get full ROM back. I still have a lot of pain and stiffness in my shoulder too. Daily ice, Advil, stretching, and light strengthening exercises are a must.
Today I did DB Chest Presses for 3 sets of 15 with 12 lb DB's. They had me do some rows with bands...there were fairly pain free. I do some work with a swiss ball where I hold the ball against the wall and move it up, down, and side to side. Lots of stretches. The PT works on stretching out my are straight up, down with a light bend in the elbow, and back with my arm at about 90 degrees. The last one really works the rotator cuff, but also stresses the whole labrum. That stretch is a serious MF.
I'm glad you'll be around more. You are a huge motivational factor for me. I'll be over to check out your journal in a bit.

I forgot to mention...I've been cleared to do some light DB curls.
I did 2 sets of 15 reps with 20 lbs. Relatively pain free...just a strange feeling in my right bicep...not bad, just strange. A little numb is the best way to describe it. I have a hard time feeling my right bicep and squeezing at the peek contraction is a bit strange. I'm sure that will change with some continued use of the muscle.

I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.
I don't ask for much on my daily goals.....just one more rep than last time.
When you stand firm in your beliefs...the people who don't will pass in and out of your life...the ones who stand with you..those are your friends.

did you have shoulder surgery or biceps surgery or both? Since the tendons were moved or reattached, your body will have to learn new pathways and new ways of working. when my shoulder started healing, it started squeeking!! Yes, squeeking!! It will do more weird things as you progress, too!
MS < ---- squeeking shoulder??
P.S. What up with the dude on my thread?
