Angry Confused About Fat Loss!!! Help!!

Hey guys. I'm aware that you should bulk first before cutting. I'm currently about 172. I want to rest at about 190-200lbs at the end of my cutting process. Now i have been reading on this site about diets and exercises that would be required and quite frankly i am very lost in the whole language and terminology. Can someone please just post your meal plan and other specifics that i will need! In short. I NEED CUTTING FOR DUMMIES! also maybe some advice on how much extra weight i should have before cutting in order to reach my goal weight (190-200lbs)

So what are your overall goals? Do you want to be "cut" at 190-200 pounds or be a bulked up monster? If you are 172 right now, you are going to have to gain some serious weight if you want to weigh 190-200 and be "cut up." My advice to you is to consume more calories then you burn. Do this responsibly, don't eat garbage, you need to up the amount of nutritious foods, so you create a positive caloric balance. I would say about 2 pounds a week. I would imagine that your final bulk weight would be somewhere around 215-220. I don't know enough about you to really give you a great nutrition plan, however I can get you started. I wouldn't neccesarily say that you have to bulk before cutting. It's just a question of neccesity. Unless you eat exactly the right amount of calories to gain muscle you're either eat more or less. If you eat less, you're nullifying your entire purpose (gaining muscle). So most people err on the side of eating more. Your goal is to gain muscle, but this is most easily done by keeping your metabolism high (some carbs) and making sure you eat enough calories every day (gradual weight gain). If you want to gain 20 lbs of lean muscle, you have two choice. Gradual weight gain over x months (x depends on how good of shape you're in right now, how fast your metabolism is, and how much working out you can do), or Faster weight gain over x/2 months followed by x/2 months gradually losing excess weight. Either of them take x months, it really just depends on what's going to work for YOU.

It's a tricky subject. If you want to lean out before you continue bulking, you can simply reduce your overall carbohydrate intake slightly until you are losing fat. That being said, if you don't have a real reason to cut, and you are putting muscle on with your current bulking plan, keep at it. Build the house and then decorate it basically.

If what you are saying is that you want to end up weighing around 200lbs and being cut at that weight, don't even think about cutting now, you're probably looking at bulking to somewhere around 240lbs if you want to be really cut at 200. Depending on the way you put on muscle, you may be able to bulk up slower eating slightly less calories than you would for a heavy bulk, and come out leaner, but it is generally going to take longer. Good luck either way!
