thats one negative i worry about... my forearms are pretty decent and i would put it down to the fact of never using straps... which means if i get into using them they might stop growing... hell i might have to take up... wrist curls

I use straps and it really helps you focus on your back not losing your grip.

I also use grippers through-out the work day to get a forearm workout and strengthen my grip.

Straps Work

Before using straps, I had trouble maintaining grip during chin ups. Now that I use straps I can do weighted chin ups. I don't have any issues with grip either. An under-over grip with straps is really needed when doing dead lifts. I imagine that doing dead lifts without straps must destroy your skin!

For me, using straps has not only increased the amount of weight I can use on all my back exercises, but I can also get more reps and feel my back working better. Before using straps I used to have to do deads to get any DOMS in my back. Now I can get my back sore doing nothing but pulldowns and rows. Straps FTW!

Edit: I had to start doing wrist curls at the end of my arm day in order to keep up the forearms. Not too bad though, just one extra movement.

you use the straps and youll get bigger traps when shrugging, theres no way my grip could handle 200-210kg, straps are a god send to me, i alwayz use them on the shrugs, lat pulldown and sometimes rows

use them, youll be able to lift much heavier, but be careful of putting too much weight on incase you injure your back. (wear a belt IMO)
