Magnum DNA? is an anabolic formula that combines the powerful muscle-regenerating effects of Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) with the hardening and muscle expanding Glycine/Arginine ingredient. DNA? also contains the intense anabolism-triggering ingredient L-Leucine Alpha KIC to ensure the most complete, natural muscle gains rarely produced in a non-hormonal supplement. These ingredients have been known to improve density of muscles and strength, recovery and athletic performance.
Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) are known as the building blocks of muscle. They must be present for muscle development and growth. The essential BCAAs are leucine, isoleucine and valine. These BCAAs are classified as "essential" because the human body does not produce them - they must be taken through supplementation.
* Improved recovery
* Increased endurance
* Increased protein synthesis (utilization of protein)
* Long-term increased lean muscle mass
* Long-term muscle hardening and definition
* It offers 7 sources of BCAAs, including the latest Ethyl Ester & Ketoisocaproate Calcium technology
* Ethyl Ester is the first bonding molecule to pass the blood-brain barrier, thus effectively saturating every cell in the body with a larger dose of the attached BCAA
* Ketoisocaproate Calcium (KIC) is perfectly anti-catabolic - it assists in muscle growth by changing the environment in your body from catabolic (muscle wasting) to anabolic (muscle building)
* It also supplies a potent dose of Glycine-L-Arginine - an ingredient to enhance muscle performance and recovery from fatigue by sustaining muscle force and overall output
* Uses weights with their training program
* Is looking to improve strength and endurance
* Is trying to increase lean muscle mass & improve body composition
* Is a bodybuilder, fitness competitor or athlete
I'm no beast in terms of strength or muscle mass by any means, but I will be someday, just trying to get better all time.
The goals for my log of Magnum DNA are to improve strength, endurance, recovery, and body composition. Most important is muscle recovery at the moment. I'm currently training 6 days a week, 3 days with weights (currently training for strength and trying to maintain muscle mass), and 3 days MMA training (a lot of muscle endurance/cardio). I hope that DNA will assist in recovery from my day to day training so I can get the best out of each workout and truly push my limits. The ingredient profile looks great and I can't wait to get started.
My diet is very healthy, a lot of oats, whole grain bread, nuts, lean meats, and veggies. Caloric intake is about maintenance and sometimes slightly below. I'd like to slowly lose some excess fat and get into peak performing condition.
My other supplements throughout this log will be mainly the basics:
Protein powder: Currently Nutrabolics Isobolic
Multi: Wal-Mart Multi
EFA's: Natrol Fish Oil
Pre-workout: AI Chaos (only use when I'm dead tired on weight training days for a boost.)
Log coming soon, I should receive DNA late this week...

Markus, as far as dosing do you recommend to follow the directions on the bottle and take 4 pre and 4 post? I was thinking all 8 before weights and 4 pre and 4 during fight training, since that lasts about 2 hours. However you want me to do it is fine with me.

I think you have it perfect:
8 pre-workout on weights
4 before & 4 after on fight training
Good luck!
I decided to do a log as well! Please take a look and let me know what you think!

I recieved my two bottles of DNA today...so now the logging can commence...
My first impression, was "wow, strong bottle," it's beefier than your average bottle of capsules. Upon opening and taking a good whiff, I would say the capsules smell like a mixture of green tea and tequila. Golden brown capsules that are relatively small and easy to swallow. I gulped 8 down with a sip of water and hit the gym tonight.
Monday nights I usually have mma training, but tonight I had a conflict so I had to miss it, instead I lifted after. I like lifting at night, I always seem to get a more intense workout. Everything was fast paced, one exercise after another.
Pull-Ups BWx12 BWx10 BWx10 (235 is a lot to pull up)
Incline BB Bench 135x15 185x8 185x8 185x6
Single Leg Squat BWx12 BWx12
DB Press 85x10 85x10
1 Arm DB Snatch 50x8 50x8 50x8 50x8 (2 sets each arm)
Ab Machine 155x12 155x12 155x12
Lying Weighted Leg Lifts 15x10 15x10
Just finished up about an hour ago, and I feel like I could do it again. I'm just wide awake, hopefully I can fall asleep tonight....
Post-workout I ate 3/4 cup of raw oats mixed in with some cottage cheese, a scoop of vanilla whey, and about 20 almonds.
DNA Effect - - I can't say I really felt anything tonight different, but I didn't expect to either. This is more of a long term effect type supplement. But I definitely felt good during the workout, and feel great now, like I said ready to do it again.
Great workouts with good weight!! I look forward to seeing you test your weights and see what DNA can do!!
You have good strength right now, and versatile (good pull-ups for a big boy)!
Keep up the good work - I look forward to seeing this through.

ya, i hope i can make some solid progress
I've been throwing a lot of unorthodox lifts in, atleast compared to my normal regimen. It's kind of refreshing to work the body as a unit instead of 1 part a day.
Long day today, including a funeral, school, etc...so no workout. Although I would've liked to go for a run or bike ride, I just didn't have the time. I'll be sure to bust ass tomorrow.
So last night I think I definitely pushed it to the limit. I had to miss a few nights of training so it felt good to be back. Basically my mma class consists of...
Warm-Up - (Running, karaoke, rolls, cartwheels, high knees, etc.) Basically just to get the blood flowing and the muscles loose.
Then we continue with kind of a endurance circuit, last night it was four stations of incline push-ups (feet up), v-sits, bw squats, and burpees. Each for 2-3 mins, not too bad.
Next we did a few technique drills for takedowns and takedown defense off the cage, and some various other drills, clinch work, etc.
We then continued with sparring, basically like a round robin, 3 minutes with 1 person, and do that about 4-5 times continuously. This is what really drains you.
And lastly finish off with a little cool down conditioning, which included zimmers (alternating legs into a lunge position), push ups, and crunches.
Overall I felt pretty good, definitely worked up a good sweat. I took 4 DNA caps before, and 4 immediately after. Then ate a meal about 20 mins later. I felt good today, no real muscle soreness or fatigue. I also lifted today, and I'll post that workout in a bit.

I wanted to post this earlier but I've been pretty busy. Yesterday I cornered a buddy of mine in his first mma fight, which he won via ground 'n pound...so that was pretty cool, and with the games today I was wrapped up. But...
I pumped out a pretty solid workout the other day. I got into the gym and felt like lifting everything, so I did kind of an antagonist routine...lifting 1 set of a muscle group after doing a set of the opposite motion. I never really did it like this but I found it to be pretty efficient.
Each pair of workouts was done like this, for example...a set of bench, a set of rows, a set of bench, etc.
Squats 255x6 265x5 265x5
Standing DB Press 55x8 55x8 55x8 (never did this before, not too bad though)
EZ Bar Curls 95x12 95x12 95x12
SkullCrushers 85x10 85x10 85x10
DB Shrugs 95x12 95x12 95x12
Calf Raises on Machine 330x12 330x12 330x12
then I cruised home and did some plyo work, we don't have boxes or anything at my gym so I do a makeshift workout on my steps, lol. Basically broad jumping like 3 steps at a time, and standing box jump type exercises.
So all in all I felt great. DNA is being dosed 8 pre on lift days and it seems to be doing it's job. Nothing I can really feel, but I weighed myself today and I was 232, down a few lbs in 2 weeks. I usually consistently weigh in at 235-236. My strength hasn't budged, and on some lifts I actually feel stronger.
One thing I really like about DNA is it's convenience, I've never taken a bcaa/recovery type supplement in pill form but it definitely has an advantage. Especially for the person drinking other stuff pre or post workout, its nice to be able to just pop some pills in your mouth and be done.
Song of the Day:
A creepy ass video by a creepy band, but very good none the less,
Looking solid brother!! I think you are really going to see that "feeling of power" start to kick in well!
Good luck!

I've had a wicked cold the past few days due to the crazy weather changes around here. I haven't lifted in a few days, but I've been doing light cardio and still training for mma and taking DNA. I feel a little better and I'll update tonight with my lift.
Kept it short and to the point last night...still wasn't feeling 100% but I got a good lift in.
Deadlifts 225x15 275x12 315x8 315x8 335x6 (Usually can do more, but went without straps)
Weighted Dips +45x10 +45x10 +45x8
Powercleans 135x6 135x6 135x6 135x6
I would've liked to do a little more leg/shoulder work but I was kind of drained.
man, my computer crashed at home this weekend so i'll be updating from school while i search for a new laptop...any suggestions?
DNA and my workouts have been going great lately. My endurance is definitely increasing. It's especially noticeable during long sparring bouts and extended cardio circuits. I'm also leaning up, and strength in the gym is staying on par, although being sick kinda shot me down for a few days, but I can't say I'm disappointed with how things are going so far.
You are doing great Jake - the workouts look heavy and that is very impressive with all the MMA training!!
Our sponsored athlete Jason "The Athlete" MacDonald (of the UFC) LOADS the Magnum DNA and loves it! How many UFC fighters do you know of that have fought 2 UFC back to back (in this decade)!!! Jason fought in UFC 87 & 88.

Well, I went into the gym last night with a lot of intensity, ready to hit the legs hard, but my first set of squats seemed to take it right out of me. Idk if it was just one of those days or what, but I couldn't lift sh*t. My knees just felt really weak at the bottom and I wasn't springing up like usual, and that frustrated the hell out of me. I planned on doing 4-5 sets of squats, but after 2 I just said screw it.
Squats 135x15 (warm-up) 225x15 225x15.....to be continued
Leg Press 360x15 360x15 360x15
SLDL 225x15 225x12 225x12
Lunges 50x12 50x12 50x12
Box jumps (as many as possible in 1 minute) 3 - 1min rounds
Besides the squats I felt ok. It felt good to focus on 1 muscle group, I think I may sway back into that direction a little, if nothing else to keep my body guessing. Today I'm gonna rip out a solid back workout, and do some cardio.
My DNA dosage today will be 4 before weights, and then 4 before cardio.

sorry for the lack of updates guys, I've been computerless lately and haven't been able to get on the net as usual...but my new laptop has arrived and I'm ready to get back on here daily. I assure you the workouts have still been intense and I'm feeling pretty good about my progress.
I'm starting to lean out quite a bit. I'm down to 230lbs, about 5-6lb loss since I started the log which I think is a solid amount. My diet isn't too crazy, basically the same things I've always ate, just a little less, mostly eliminating carbohydrate calories. I'd say macros are about 35/45/20 (c/p/f). Like I said, I really feel like I'm getting in good shape, on a fitness level instead of just from a bodybuilding aspect.
I'm liking DNA quite a bit. It combined with more endurance type exercise have greatly increased my stamina. The other day I ran on a treadmill for the first time in awhile, (usually just rely on mma for cardio) and it was a piece of cake. I hate doing cardio like that usually, but I dominated it. After 25 minutes of about a 160 heart rate, instead of being tired and slowing down I actually kicked it up a gear, it was like an alpha adrenaline shot and I basically sprinted for the last 5 minutes. Ssoooo overall things are good, and look forward to spending more time in here.
We need to talk about something else to tally up the post count in here...anyone a baseball fan? Huge Brewer fan right here, looking for them to upset and do some damage.
Had a great back workout yesterday, felt some intensity that's been missing.
Took 8 DNA caps
Deadlifts (no straps) 225x15 275x12 315x8 315x8 <<grip was slipping
Pull-Ups +15lbs x8 x8 x8
Bent Over Rows (Alt under/over hand grip) 135x20 135x20 135x20 135x20
Hammer Strength Pulldown 180x10 180x10 180x10
Also did a forearm circuit I found in Men's Fitness that's supposedly straight from mma fighters. It left my wrists and forearms absolutley dead, especially after doing back with no straps. (forrest griffin on cover)
Today I felt great at the mma gym. Took 4 DNA caps to start it off. At the end we were doing gauntlet sparring, basically 1 guy in the middle and he goes against 5 guys for a minute each. I felt good being in the middle and was actually still relatively fresh after each guy, endurance is definitely improving. Took another 4 caps after practice and now I'm good to go.
