Optimum 100% whey protein 16 Flavor Packets review

Doing a quick little review for those who are interested in this product.

everyday till the 16 flavors are done, I will be doing a little write up on each.


last night I had the Root Beer Float...let me say it is nowhere near as tasty as a root beer float is. in fact, i think it downright sucks. Not bad tasting, just not rootbeer-y enough. smells like root beer though. as for mixing. it was flawless.


This morning i had the Banana Cream. YUMMY. that **** was good. no way to explain it, it was like a banana shake with a slight whey powder aftertaste. and again, flawless mixing.

Today was Strawberry and Banana. good stuff all around! ive had the same flavor before in other shakes and its always been "alright" nothing to write home about, but the tastebuds would be tired after the 10th shake. Syntha-6 had the best strawberry so far, but then it is only strawberry. This shake tasted very close to it, and the reason it didnt was most probably because of the banana (no complaints!)

what does it have to compromise a slightly less strawberry taste then syntha-6? WAY better mixing. in fact, again, no clumps in just my simple bb.com shaker cup. and in my books that counts. cause no matter how good the taste. when a clump comes, it just gross.

today was the mocha flavour. I really like this one. it had a subtle hint of coffee, which is nice because i dont generally like strong coffee. il admit i was hesitant, thinking it might be a waste of good milk, but i was wrong.

Again, mixing is flawless.

Today i woke up to the nice tasting caramel toffee flavor. now, this was a good flavor, tasted pretty much like the sugarless toffee if youve ever tried it. This is a flavor which i would buy in their small tub size, (2lb?) and have it once in a while as to change it up. This flavor is a good one, however, i believe it could get tiring pretty fast.

as always insane mixing. (is there even whey in there? )

I love ON 100% Whey. But for some reason people like the Strawberry Banana and I find it quite repulsive. I bought a 5lber and I'm really struggling to finish it, lol.

I tried the variety pack too.

Best flavors: banana cream, double rich chocolate, chocolate mint (which basically is double rich chocolate with a hint of mint), delicious strawberry

Most of the other flavors are terrible. Especially the orange cream.

I almost puked after that one.

this weekend I had the tropical punch...

my only thought is, id like to slap the person who thought it would be a good flavor... I guess that pretty much explains my experience with it. Tropical punch is ok in creatine flavors, or bcaa, or other such "liquidy" drink or watery drinks...punch with whey? and with milk....ewww. Bright side, mixing was a punch


This morning, I had double rich chocolate. Yummy! it was really good actually and it is in the works for buying a tub of it. as always mixing was fantastic

I recently purchased the sample pack also & agree 100% on the fruit punch. Though I mixed it with water instead of milk, I found it difficult to mix & the taste repulsive.

delicious strawberry today. it was ok, tasted like the strawberry quick we had as kids. now i know that i was saying that i imagined (or at least it sounded like that ) that the plain strawberry would be better. turns out, i prefer the strawberry and banana. the banana cut back that cloying strawberry-that-isnt-right-taste, making it drinkable on a regular basis.

as always mixing is a blast

I've got the Mocha one right now and I mix it with water and the only thing missing to make it starbucks is that massive hit of caffine. I was heasitant too but figured BB.com would hook me up if I took one shake and didn't like the taste. I had just done the choc. and that got old fast. Their Vanilla Casin is also awesome.

extreme milk chocolate today folks,

and well...it was what it said, very similar to chocolate shakes, and the taste was good. pretty much the regular, run of the mill Chocolate whey.

Good flavor, most likely will buy. On the chocolate scale so far it goes

most chocolaty- Double Rich Chocolate
Middle - Chocolate Malt
Least (more milk shake flavor) - Extreme Chocolate Shake.

just curious, are you mixing them with water or milk? I think you said you drank tropical punch with milk, but what about strawberry banana? If it is with milk, how do you think it'll taste with water? BTW, thanks a bunch for posting this.

today was Rocky road.

Being a fan of Rocky Road of the Bio-x Line of products, i was interested as to how this would match up. Im please to say that this was really good, smooth and creamy, but yet rocky road tasting. as always, stupidly smooth and easy to mix.

These are all done with one package (one scoop) and 8 oz of 1% milk. as for the taste with water, it would be good. ive tried many shakes with milk and water. these taste better with milk then the others, so i can imagine it would port of to the water. it would not be creamy, and thinner tasting. but still very drinkable.

Thanks for the reviews, i already had purchased the chocolate malt (coming tomorrow!!!) i love ON whey, i have tried only their chocolate flavours as i can always guarantee they will be good.

I would sincerely like to slap the sucker who though Orange Cream was a good flavor....seriously.... **** like that can destroy a company's reputation

Vanilla Creme today.

it was good..ish. good taste, but it has a weird aftertaste. very cloying. kinda kills your appetite too. If that wasnt an issue, it would definetly be tastier then Vanilla Ice Cream for sure.

I tried Orange cream with water yesterday and it is trash. First it tastes like those orangery water and then you will start to taste a hint of cream. Overall, it kind of taste like those orange cream Popsicles, but still, I wouldn't recommend it because it just doesn't taste right.

I'm going to try Chocolate mint later on today. I have heard good things about it from people and I hope it is true since I'm going to be drinking it after my favourite workout day, chest and triceps.
