Change in shape, not weight
I'm simply being curious. I've lost massive inches in the last few weeks and I am also finding definition in some places that I did not before. However, I am not losing any weight. I'm still stuck at 130. If I would like to become more defined is there something that I am lacking either in my diet or workouts that is causing this effect?
I eat clean:
Oatmeal, Tuna, broccoli (Lots of it), 100% whey (2xday), egg whites (hate em the most) and chicken breasts, occasionally, I eat lean red meat but not too often.
I also supplement:
Flax, Glutamine, L-Carnitine, Multi-vitamin, Lipo-6, and CLA
I work out 2 times a day:
at least one hour of cardio a day (intensity varies upon circumstances, little ones), and about 45min of good lifting. 2 days a week I get in some HIIT and plyometrics

Have you just started on your plan? If anything you need more time to get the results you're looking for so have patience...it's a long road.

As of 5 weeks on my new plan I've lost just over 50cm (measuring shoulders, biceps, chest, waist, hips, thighs, calves) and my weight on the scale is still fluctuating - sometimes more, sometimes less. I look different and I fit into clothes that I didnt before.
I think measurements and how you fit into clothes is real and more tangible than the number on the scales, which can change due to hydration, TTOTM, muscle and a host of other reasons.

Don't trust the scale!
In seriousness, the scale is not what you should go by IMO. It can't tell you how much of that number is because of muscle or fat. From the sounds of it you're gaining muscle as fast as you losing fat. Just go by your measurements and how you feel about your body.
If you really want to judge by weight, do it by how much you can lift

Congratulations
I am thrilled your seeing so many gains.
The scale isnt really something that going to give you any answers. Your clothes will.

I agree with what the others have said, even though I still get upset about the number that still shows up on my scale! BUT, I can tell you this -- last summer I lost 30 lbs with diet and exercise but I wasn't lifting much weight. I was doing one of those circuit workouts, much like Curves. Then I got sidetracked and gained every single one of those pounds back in 6 mos. I got myself back on track this spring, but this time I joined a real gym and started lifting along with cardio. I've lost 20 lbs, so I'm still 10 lbs. heavier than I was last summer, but I'm wearing the same clothes. Should tell ya something!

Thank you for all of the input. I have been trying to keep track with the tape and my clothes. I'm moving through sizes with a vengance so, no complaints there. However, if the scale is no tell tale sign of fitness then I can toss it with the size 6s!

I've always been told you lose the inches before you notice the difference on the scale...
don't worry as already said give yourself some more time it will happen.
Also again it's already been said but don't go by the scales, take your measurements and use them as a guide including your clothes. If they are feeling more loose then you are doing something right.

I refuse to give up. I love the way that I'm beginning to look again. The scale just isn't justifying it. Heck, as long as I'm competition ready after this injury in the coming months I'm going to keep at it.
We can, if we make it happen!!

I've been going to WW meetings for the last month and have actually gained weight but went down a size in pants at Lane Bryant. I've been doing cardo + weights for 4 weeks.
This is my first macronutrient diet week so we'll see what happens.

Who said that they were complaining? That's just not productive. No one here is complaining...It's simply a question that was posed in regards to my diet and exercise regimen. I've been in great shape in the past as an amateur athlete however, figure had different expectations. The training and diet are different the goals are different. A simple loss of inches doesn't equal a figure competitor.

Sounds to me like you're doing everything right. If you're losing inches and the scale isn't changing then you're adding on the equivalent in muscle and water. Keep at it! Once you get to a point where the inches aren't changing and you have the muscle size you want, then you can drop calories/lower carbs/cycle carbs or calories and focus in on leaning up.

I'm in the same boat as you. I've lost a lot of inches, but very little weight. And I do think that's a good place to be, that means you are putting on muscle as fast as you are losing fat. Go with how the clothes fit and how the pictures look. They will make you a lot happier than the scale will.

Hi! The same thing has happened to me, I can't seem to get below 111 lbs but I've lost inches. Take measurements, those seem to be better! I've lost measurable inches almost everywhere but still weigh about the same thing. I'm assuming I've replaced some fat with muscle but I'm still too scared to have my body fat tested again, the last time I did it was high. Keep on going, you're not alone!! Take care!

Don't judge your progress by the scale
I've been the same weight for about 4 months yet I've increased my bicep strength, lost an inch in my abdomen, gained 4lbs muscle and lost about 3% bodyfat...so the message here...DON'T JUDGE YOUR PROGRESS by the scales...scales can be deceptive and so many people get caught up in them..just think of a person who looks skinny, weights little but has too much body fat....
Keep moving, keep going and the progress will come...PROMISE
