lol, i just noticed you are a DEP and will be a Seaman. First off congrats! No mal intent there. However once you get assigned to your fleet, you will understand what I am talking about when it comes to CO's. There are great ones and there are ones who do not belong there.

That applies to anything, business or military, but COs can't advance while being totally incompetent, either.
Whatever though, we can agree to disagree on the subject. I don't see either one changing stance.

My friend, yes they can and as you will see they will. You haven't even gone to boot yet, why are you still arguing about a world you have not stepped into yet?
Yes, the DEMS are panicked, with 80,000+ people at their nominees acceptance speech, while McCranky pants can't get even 10,00 to show up for his. Yes, the DEMS picked some wild choice for VP, and announced it in the middle of the night trying to stop the coverage of one of the best acceptance speeches ever. They are freaked out because their nominee is the oldest in American history, and their VP pick said less than a month ago, she didn't even know what the vice-president does. Yes, they hammered the repugs with talking points about their nominees lack of experience, then picked a woman with no experience at all before 20 months ago. Yes, it is an obviously panicked choice that matches their obviously panicked state. Oh, uhh, err, wait a minute.... Are you sure the DEMS are panicked?

Obama pulled in huge crowds in Ohio and Pennsylvania when he campaigned there in the Primaries and he lost to Hillary Clinton. The Obama camp is worried because with this political environment they are in they should be WAY ahead in the polls. Coming out of the covention they only have a few points lead with the RNC coming this week. That does spell out alot of concern. Why is it with Bush's approval rating so low and alot of people tired of the "Republican Brand" but the polls are so close. There is something wrong here and it is Obama. People are not sold on him regardless of how many people show up to his speeches.

Because he is black. (not racist) I'm voting for the guy, but it is the truth.

No it is because of his stupid comments about rural voters, his role models, his associations, and his inexperience. Alot of people do not trust a word that he says. He says one thing and then a few hours later he releases a statement about what he really meant to say.

Because the military ain't that different from the business world when it comes to advancement for Officers, according to the Officers I've spoken to. I haven't spoke to any person in the military that has experienced the business world that feels otherwise, to this date.
Are you an Officer?

You should be worried. They just held their convention and only came out with a 4 point rise. Something is wrong here. He should be up HUGE just because of the fact he is not a republican but somehow he cannot get a substantial lead. Not only that but the RNC is coming up this week and there will surely be a bounce from that. You should be very worried.
Any poll that includes the 2 third party candidates gives Obama even more of a bounce. BTW Only a 4% rise? That ties his largest lead according to gallup since June. Moreover the Gallup poll today includes interviews done last night so it factors in the Palin bump.

Ya, I cannot wait to see the GOP convention. McCain speaking is almost as great as the great President Bush speaking.
The fact is Obama is up, substantially. And whoever says Palin is more experienced than Obama because she's a Governor and he's just a Senator who votes on things, then it means Palin is more experienced than McCain as well. It also spells out how ignorant you really are about how government works.
I almost lost my composure when I read someone list the following as Palin's accomplishments:
-She will greatly help with the female vote
-She mixes her young age in with McCain's older age to create a nice mix
-She will solidify the conservative base, conservatives love her
This same person said she "Stopped pork spending", and I'm assuming they meant pork barrel spending. This person also went on to say that Obama's only accomplishments include just having given a speech somewhere. Very fair and balanced opinion. Kudos to you sir.
That is all well and good but I would much rather listen to facts and make up my own mind. Somebody here already posted Obama's Senate record here and it should speak for itself. As for Palin, no one knows much about here but the facts are starting to pour out of the cracks. Like the fact that she's under investigation for abuse of power. Good start right there for a political career.
Also the fact that her approval rating according to Alaskan media and officials is really around 65% not the touted 88%. In the time she's been there she's done some good and deserves recognition for it, but she's also done an equal amount of bad things already and has been extremely partisan in her ways, even though she has said she wasn't.
The choice of Sarah Palin may have created short term buzz but it won't be long lasting. You can't compare her experience to Biden's, and while Fox News watchers here may cringe when I say it, not even Obama's. She is a newcomer and who knows, maybe she could grow into the ranks of the Rep party and be prepared at one point, but she definitely isn't right now. Specially when she doesn't even know what the job entails, as you can see in this video clip:
I was a big fan of McCain in 2000 but unfortunately he has lost his way and supports the same lobbyists and oil companies Bush does and he has voted against our troops on the GI Bill, voted FOR torture after he was such a strong advocate against it, and basically helped companies like DHL ship jobs overseas. I'm sorry but he's turned on himself and the country and his latest choice for VP highlights how incompetent he has truly become.
It's funny to see all the Obama supporters go off on Palin because he is full of 'empty statements', or has no experience............way too much irony for me.
Good. Most conservatives stop reading after the word "facts".
The Huffington Post is a liberal online news blog site, yes. But it has been pretty critical of Obama as well. Now you have to understand that it is hard to be less critical of McCain. Really hard. All you have for ammunition on Obama is the experience thing. And after that you may go to the Muslim thing and whatever else that can superficially mask your ignorant racist ass.
EDIT: Thanks for the Negs as well. How old are you, 12?
