Smile On days with little time, can AM Cardio be replaced with...

Jumping rope instead a couple days a week? I've heard about so many benefits of it and how quickly it burns calories, but I also understand it is high impact and shouldn't be performed too much or too long. Would I be able to add that in as a training component? Or would it be better completed later in the day with my weight-workout? Also, if anyone knows a lot about it, how many days a week should jump-roping be done ideally? (To be used as a slight aid in fat loss, but mostly for speed/endurance/skill training.)
TIA

Lori
