Question about protein....

I know eating lots of good protein is important but sometimes I just can't eat enough chicken and eggs if you know what I mean. How much protein powder can I supplement? It seems so much easier for me to get my protein in by just having a shake or bar. How bad is that? Also... how healthy is edamame? I LOVE eating it but I never really see anyone talking about it.

Edamame is fine, probably the best way to eat soya.

Really, eating enough problem should not be a problem, unless you have over estimated your calorie requirements. Take a whey shake after lifting, but I'd aim for real food the rest of the time.

Listen to Eileen! She knows her stuff! I also have trouble some days getting in 180 grams of protein in pure food sources. I only drink whey after cardio and after lifting...the rest of the day is all chicken/steak/tuna/eggs. They really do have the best nutrients... And as for the bars, I personaly havent found any that are "clean" yet, so I don't touch them. If your looking for convience, make all your chicken and meats on sunday and spearate them into individual servings and put the meal # and day on each serving. That way, you just grab and go!

i hear u , what i like to do if i resort to more pro shake's during the day/night i add some milk and PB or cottage cheese - so it will slow down the absortion of whey and i get a nice stedty flow of amino's , hope that helps!!!
