Who thinks this would be a good idea for a site for broke bodybuilders?
Hey guys,
First of all, I hope I posted this in the right section to garner enough attention. I have this preconceived notion that the misc. section of the forum has no bodybuilders... hopefully I'm wrong.
Anyways, I was trying to buy supplements and equipment these past few weeks and I began to realize I'm really cheap. Like really cheap. Either that or broke. This hobby can get quite expensive sometimes, even though I know it doesn't have to, but if you use supplements or buy gym equipment, you'll know how pricey and marked-up these things are.
So I began thinking about looking for a way to always find the best deals on anything related to bodybuilding, and there are sites that exist like this but no community...
So I had an idea. What about a site/forum just for the cheap/budget bodybuilder? This wouldn't be a place to talk about or discuss bodybuilding and supplements. That already exists, it's called BODYBUILDING.COM. This would be a site for the budget bodybuilder, the cheap gym rat, the poor fitness enthusiast. Let's face it, bodybuilding is an expensive hobby. But it doesn't have to be if you don't want it to. This can especially pertain to those of you that are young and in school since you don't have full-time jobs to support your hobby or the amount of freedom you'd like to have to spend.
It can be a place where people can share deals on the internet or in stores for supplements, equipment, gym memberships and food... and also share things like sales and limited time offers, contests, free stuff, free samples, coupons, budget bodybuilding tips, etc etc.
It could be a place where you hear about these things first so you don't have to browse for it.
Would anybody be interested in something like this or interested in helping contributing/being part of a site like this? If anybody is interested let me know, I think it could be a good compliment to bodybuilding.com itself... just a place for the cheap ass lifters like myself.
Just a thought.

I think it would be filled with leachers who just want to FIND the best deal, and much less people to share great deals. Because realistically what good do most people find in going to a random site to share a great deal? They'll probably tell their friends, and maybe post at a forum they frequent, but how many would go out of their way? I'm certain there are some, and I might do it too, but I don't think most would.
You would need to do most of the deal finding yourself at first and maybe forever.

First of all thanks for your input.
Very true. I think maybe if there was restricted access, like you have to sign-up to read it or have a minimum post count it might work. I wouldn't mind contributing myself, I mean, I'm cheap as hell and do a lot of bargain hunting. But very good points.

Yeah, I feel your pain. BB.com does it for me usually until I find steals at other stores. Just shipping is a pain in the ass.

I don't have a link, but I know there is sites where you can get amazing deals on bulk whey protein. I think it's concentrate, not isolate, probably not the best tasting, but if I remember right some site was selling pounds and pounds for 15 bucks or something like that. Maybe someone else can PM you a link to such a site

Good business plan. Start a niche site that serves broke people as its target audience. Make a post in a couple of years and let us know how it went, if you can still afford internet access.
