During my seven years of college and graduate studies money was tight and I could not afford to go to the Olympia. Now that my financial situation is better, my wife and I will be road tripping from South Carolina to Nevada for the Olympia.
I am so excited that my first contest will be the biggest of them all, the Mr. Olympia. It will be awesome to see my heroes competing live on stage. During high school and college my friends and I would bulk over the winter and cut during the summer and try to peak during the dates of the Olympia. We would have our own mini Mr. Olympia contest while the real thing was going on.
My writing skills make me the perfect choice because I will produce passionate and articulate blog entries. Further, my true love for the sport will make very entertaining video footage. Please make my first bodybuilding show a dream come true. Please select me to represent Bodybuilding.com at the 2008 Mr. Olympia.

I fell in love with the sport of bodybuilding just nearly a year ago. I joined a local gym and started to work my way up, little by little, day by day, I made it my goal to better myself and my body. After being diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 17 there were very few sports I could fully dedicate myself to due to numerous complications, but lifting has brought a new meaning to the word passion in my life. Bodybuilding.com has grown to be one of the greatest resources I have had during my journey this past year. After one short year the progress I have made has given me the inspiration to one day compete, and with that said I would be greatly honored if chosen to contribute to the Olympia.
Never would I have dreamed that I would have a chance let alone the opportunity to represent Bodybuilding.com at the 2008 Olympia, and being my first show, it would be the experience of a lifetime, one that I would remember for years to come. Bodybuilding has become much more than a sport to me, much more than a hobby, it has become a lifestyle, something I cannot live without. I feel that my passion and dedication for this sport would make me an excellent choice to represent Bodybuilding.com at the 2008 Mr. Olympia. Please allow me to be the one to experience a once in a lifetime event, and make my mark on the bodybuilding community.

My Submission
I've attached my submision to this post as a PDF document, but just in case anyone cannot open it I've included the text version below. Hope you like it:
Tech-Savvy - I guess you could say I'm tech-savvy, in fact I'm a big geek! I'm an active duty officer in the Army by trade (over 20-years of service), currently work in an IT position and I have a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. I'm also about halfway through my Masters of Science in Managing Information Technology program.
Bodybuilding Fan/Familiarity with the Industry - I've been a fan of bodybuilding since I was a child; some of my fondest childhood memories are of me and my friends on the playground pretending we were "muscle men." My favorite fictional character - The Hulk. My wife and I have been to several Arnold Classic competitions, numerous local NPC shows and last year was our first Olympia experience. If you choose me to be your Bodybuilding.com representative, you also get my beautiful wife, Wendy. Wendy is a clothing designer and specializes in competition suits for bodybuilding, fitness and figure competitors. Her clients include Monica Brant-Peckham, Julie Lohre and the late Amanda Savell (RIP). Please view some of her work at www.BodyHighlights.com and check out some of the pics from the various shows we have attended.
As an added bonus we plan on attending the Atlantic City Pro as well and would love to also provide coverage for that show. Also, we may have the opportunity to visit with Monica Brant later this month and I'm sure we could convince her to give us an interview.
Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to representing Bodybuilding.com at this year's premier bodybuilding event!

If your looking for a fresh face, who can bring spark and spice to the Olympia coverage, then you've found it. While I may not have XY chromosomes, that doesn't make my love of the sport any less.
And that love of the sport doesn't stop at just bodybuilding. I'm also an avid fan of Fitness and Figure. Which would offer the bb.com viewers a more diverse coverage. My personality is one that won't become tongue tied when crossing paths with all the familiar faces from the Olympia coverage from years past.
But will I be entertaining, you ask? Well, picture if you will.... 28 years old prepping for figure competitions this fall (the low carb mood swings are a circus in their own right), mix that with the fact that I'm a Vegas first-timer. Oh yeah, and I'm single. But I promise, everything will be PG-13.
But does she have a copy of "Technology for Dummies" on her book shelf? Nope. I'm actually a gadget nerd at heart. But "shush", don't tell anyone! Don't wanna ruin my image.
Wordory... Yes I can actually speak rather well. AND more importantly I can hold ones attention, and not make them want to gouge their eyes out with a pencil if forced to watch another minute of the 2008 Olympia coverage. Did I mention I already have Olympia tickets? *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*
Oh yeah... if you pick me, can you hook me up with one of those cutie little bb.com tops like Jamie wore at the Arnold? LOL!

Not yet, sorry, but it'll either be today or tomorrow. Reviewing the entries now.

Last year when I went, I got the full VIP Gold Package which was around $850 per person and this year it's about the same. I just got my tickets the other day. It's worth it bro. My wife and I had a great time last year and look forward to going again this year. You don't have to spend that much if you only want to go to certain events. I wanted the full expierance and let me tell you, being VIP is way better because you actually get to sit down close to the stage at the expo, to where if you're not you have to stand. You also get to meet the Olympians and hour before the general public comes in. We'll be sitting right behind the press this year close to the judges. Should have some awesome photos this year. It has its perks.

I bought show tickets separate from the VIP package. But did buy the Platinum membership. Is it usually a good value?

LOL, the KY is for Kentucky, I didn't think about the other meaning of "KY" until after I created the account. Maybe now that I'm a big star, I should change the name :-)
Thanks for choosing me, when I saw Dalotajr's post I thought she would get it for sure.
Everyone who competed did a great job, if you guys happen to see me at the Olympia, please come say hello.
