The "300" workout-Hardest workout EVER
So i saw this workout in a magazine and tried it
Supposively its the workout that the cast members from the movie "300" did to get big and strong
It's like death!
NO REST INBETWEEN EXERCISES
-25 pullups
-50 deadlifts@135lb
-50 pushups
-50 box jumps
-50 floor wipers
-50 single arm clean and press w/ kettle bell
-25 pullups
I won't lie-I couldn't complete it
I altered it a little and did less.
Almost threw up
The cardio is amazing...F running and biking-do this instead

They didn't work out like that. It was a timed exercise, they did this once a month or so. It was used as a benchmark, not as a workout routine.

Exactly. It was used as a challenge, not a workout. Not saying it wouldn't give you a good workout tho.

All of the trainers at my gym have come up with a new competition, called the Filthy Five Hundred. It's 10 exercises all of 50 reps with no rest in between, the trainers had to do their own routine and thats the time to beat.
Challenges are good.

I did it before without any rest, forgot to time myself, probably took well over 25 minutes. The thing is, it isnt a workout. If you researched it properly you would find that it's a test.
To be an actor in the movie 300 you had to be able to complete this test, and each person was timed, the fastest times made the cut. The actual training was really ****ing hard.
Also, for those who dont think you can do the pullups, they aren't bodybuilding pullups aka dead man's pullups, they are klipspringer(something like that) pullups where you can swing your weight in a certain fashion to increases effectiveness (less stress on muscles) so it really isn't hard. Hardest IMO were the deadlifts(had to take a tiny rest to catch breath) and floor swipes =/
dont do this as a workout, but you can do it as a test to see if you are 300 =)
best time i think was 18 minutes and like 40 seconds. (among the actors, the fastest was the Arcadian leader guy, forgot his name)

I tied it and finished it. However, I wouldnt say I completed it because I cant get 25 pullups in a row.

According to Mark Twight's words at gymjones.com about the 300 workout, not everyone did that workout and they only selected the ones they deemed fit to do it. The 300 workout was not used as a test to cut people from the movie. The guys that were training for 300 with Mark Twight and company were selected and auditioned already.

this 300 workout is nothing but a conditioning workout. I would highly suggest it for wrestlers or anyone in a type of martial art but i do not see someone getting big from this workout. That's just my opinion. I am going to try it out for a week to see how it feels. That last set up 25pullups looks like it may need a spotter. haha

Educate yourself
I tried this workout a few weeks ago, it took right at a half hour. I think the target time for the actors was under 25 minutes but I might be remembering wrong. Its insanely intense either way.
I'd encourage all of you to read Mark Twight's response to the skeptics.

That was a great read man. This guy really has alot to say about weight lifters and the way we act. I printed it and put it on my wall.

Glad you liked it. The first time I read it, it sure inspired me to work harder and be conscious of the way I perceived things.

Is a floor wiper when you hold a barbell above your chest, lying down, and raise your legs up to the side alternately?

Yep, that'd be it. You kick your legs up and try to hit the plate with your foot.

ok are you allowed to take breaks in between reps for example, do 10 pullups, rest for a min, 10 pullups, or do you have to do it all together, cuz im pretty sure i could this in under 20 mins if your allowed to take lil breaks.
