Go to knives shop and steal the katana's of the walls and strap it to my back. The go to foodshops e.g and get as much **** as i can.
My friend would be with me the whole time so we could watch each others backs. Anyway drive back to one of our houses and barricade it up. From there we plan wtf we gonna do.
I always thought that driving out into the bush would be a good idea. Escpecially in australia wheres theres ALOT of open spaces where no one lives within hundreds of miles. Id probs need to find an abo and get him to teach me how to live of the land however. Cause eventually **** would run out including petrol and guns.

It sucks in Australia because we are limited to weaponry in case of a zombie outbreak. We can only legally possess hunting rifles. I know a few people in the army and they told me in a red alert scenario the bases go into lockdown immediately. Anyone unauthorised to enter is either captured and interrogated or shot on sight. Plus the army will take all their vehicles and weapons out of the compound to deal wiht the zombie outbreak.
Your best bet if you live in a country without legal firearms is to get to a boat first thing and then make further plans from there. Without guns you're pretty much dead on dry land.

lol you can't just waltz in and take everything you need from an army base. army bases are secure as fort knox to keep people out from doing just that. and in a zombie situation i'm sure they'd shoot you if you got too close.
also the shopping malls are going to be packed full of frenzied people with the exact same idea you have.

Plus everything on an army base that you might find useful you wouldn't have any idea how to operate. M-16s, claymores, grenade launchers, mortars and tanks dont come with easy Fisher Price instructions.
Also the raiding mall idea is pretty suicidal. Already been discussed and debunked earlier in thread.

The worst thing about a full scale zombie outbreak is that itd send the world back to the Stone Age, and thered only be small pockets of survivors over the world with vast distances between them, only able to survive from raided supplies and self sufficient energy sources.

If zombies break out, we're all doomed anyways. Just a matter of time before resources run out. I'd barricade myself in a penthouse bedroom with all the hot chicks I can find for teh big orgy. Ofcourse for humanity rebuilding purposes.

Yeh we were going on idea that everything was chaos and no one had time to do anything, it was along time ago so we didnt think about it that much hehehe. But yeh you guys are right if it was a more realistic scenario theres no way we would get weapons from an army base.

Zombies are seriously the worst thing that could happen to the world. In just a few hours everyone will be plunged headfirst back 200 years when the power goes out. That means goodbye flushing toilets, goodbye fridges and hello spoiling food, goodbye washing machines, goodbye dryers, goodbye clean clothes, then goodbye communication when the telephone lines go down. Goodbye fresh water(water desalinisation plants need electricity), goodbye gas pumps.....list is endless.
Then of course UV light deprivation when everyone is boxed in away from zombies. Then a whole slew of psychological problems from being bunkered in and 'stir crazieness'. Then crippling of infrastructure. Complete anarchy with no laws and marauding gangs of survivors and militia killing anyone for their supplies which will skyrocket in value. Then rampant disease and plague from rotting corpses out in the streets.
And all of those are problems which the zombies indirectly cause. Most of the people who survive the zombies will probably commit suicide soon after due to these later problems. Humanity would have no hope of rebuilding since any long term survivors would have no way to communicate and would simply be too few and far between.

i would get whatever weapons i have at home, drive through hordes of zombies to the nearest gun shop, and then drive and fight my way to a military base or steal a plane at a private air strip, take enough weapons to kill a lot of zombies, fly to hawaii get on the smallest fertile island, kill all the zombies there and then i could live off the food i farmed.

I thought of a new spin on the zombie idea. Had a long time to sit and think the other day, and thought about the idea of a movie where only around half of it deals with the actual zombie attacks and getting bitten etc. The protagonists don't do anything stupid and have a great zombie plan so the movie focuses half on zombies and the other half is devoted to all the other problems that arise from zombies, the non-zombie problems. Alot of them have already been discussed like the power grid failing, the psychological issues, no fresh water or clean clothes, stir craziness, supplies dwindling, running out of gasoline, crippling of infrastructure, crazed/armed human militia killing others for supplies etc. Like, a zombie movie that would show just how truly screwed most are if zombies ever attack.
BTW my friend who has the boat had his birthday party on the weekend and the boat has a bed, a kitchen and a shower I didn't know about. As soon as I can convince him to stock it up with supplies we are set

The problem I see with weapon choices at the moment is determining what would harm zombies. Do they rely on muscles like us to move? Or are they more reliant on the joints and tendons? If a zombie was burned to the bone, would it still be able to move and be a threat?
That's the problem I really see with burning or acid choices, to a human they cause alot of damage but the major danger of both of those until they reach severe stages is the pain. A person who is being burned alive or drowned in sulfuric acid will die eventually due to blood loss or organ damage, but the pain will completely disable a person a long time beforehand. With zombies because they feel no pain, I could see zombies coming to attack you quickly turning into flaming zombies coming to attack you which are even more dangerous.
For this reason I think the weapon of choice would definately be some form of sword or heavy fire arm. The reason it must be so strong is even if a human could easily die from a normal gun, inorder to stop a zombie they must be completely disabled. By using sometihng like a .50 cal or greater, they would not only be stopped or injured, their bodies would be reduced to mush in a few shots. A smaller gun would definately work, but under pressures from a multitude of zombies at long range, it would be almost impossible to get consistent fatal shots, thankfully with a heavy arms weapon there is no guess work just aim and shoot and reduce the zombies to nothing regardless of where you hit. I would also recommend a small arms weapon for close range combat. By using a small arms weapon you could then insure your safety from close range zombies through easy shots to the head, or protect yourselves from other humans which will eventually screw you over and kill you.

Going back the the infrastructure of a ZOMBIE..
Any 1 wana input how long they think a Zombie would stay active.. if it never ate nor consumed water/liquid etc..
Im guessing they would DRY up and crumble? (if its muscle dried up, would the muscle break?)

In World War Z, they last for a long time. Since they break down over time, they don't need the human flesh, they just feed on it. The zombie is reliant only on it's head/brain.
As discussed, machate is one of the best weapons. Strong enough to cut through a neck or limb; also serves other purposes.
Burning is only effective if you can easily stay away from them once burned, since one zombie (will hopefully) set one, two or many on fire along wih it. The fire should spread dependant upon how tight the quarters are & weather conditions.

depends on what they feed on and how their metabolisms work
I mean think about the difference between 28 days later zombies vs World War Z Zombies
28 days (1 month zombie survival) vs WWZ (1 to several years)

28 days later zombies are the ones that can actually happen, so I focused on those while designing my plan.
Thankfully they are just human bodies with nothing superhuman to them. They can die from lost limbs, blood loss, brain damage, choking, drowning etc just like we can.
Other weapon choices that alot probably aren't aware of are chemical weapons. If you fill a soda bottle up with bleach, then piss into it, it will start to bubble and you can throw it. It will explode since it has now become an ammonia bomb, releasing toxic chlorine gas everywhere. Turns lungs into soup when inhaled, and everything that uses muscles to move needs oxygen. "undead" zombies still require the use of muscles(because the brain is just reanimted, no supernatural force moving the bone itself). Very easy to make and you don't need a firearm to do it.
Also common household bug spray is a weapon you can use which noone would really think about as a weapon. If you connect around 5 of them, find a way to puncture them all at once, then throw it, you have a cloud of nerve agent. Bug spray is an inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase(enzyme which breaks down chemical required for muscle contraction)and if a sufficient quantity is inhaled it will cease all muscle contraction. Both these ideas would work best indoors. Ideal scenario- you are cornered in a small room with zombies blocking your only escape route. You can't exactly shoot at them from inside the room, you can't use an explosive due to confined quarters but you can throw an ammonia bomb or bugspray bomb and let it disperse and wait it out inside the room.
