Whey Powder with water... or soy milk?
What would be everyone's opinion about mixing whey powder with water vs. UNSWEETENED/UNFLAVORED soy milk, such as Silk?
Mixed with water, it is frankly hard for me to choke down. When I've tried mixing with unflavored and unsweetened soy milk, it was pretty darned good. Sugars are still kept quite low, and wouldn't the added soy protein compliment the whey protein?

I usually just mix it with water, suck it up, and drink it. Faster absorption FTW!

I don't actually think this is true, I know there is articles about it online. Also, casein also has its advantages PWO when mixed with Whey. Milk PWO is VERY Anabolic.

I know this thread was about soy, I forgot though, I see why you mentioned that.

Yeah that's not true... Why would milk cause slower absorption?

Casein IS slower digesting, which is why I think a lot of people think that, but it DOESN'T slow absorption of the whey protein and carbs down.

And what would be the point of a casein/whey blend?
I don't think he thought that response through.

Anti-catabolic / anabolic respectively - the best of both worlds.

I mix my stuff with either water or whole milk for extra richness.
I never use soy products, I hear it has an effect on estrogen levels, and may even throw progesterone/estrogen levels out of balance in women. Also, I've read some studies where soy may have a negative impact on breast cancer because of it's estrogenic properties. Who knows really. But one thing I do know is that I won't touch the stuff!
