Or are we really having a survivor style cutting contest where it gets slimmed down every month??
From what I understand, as long as you meet the update deadlines you get to stick around. He will not hesitate to cut anyone who fails to do this.

During the last couple weeks of this competition judges will narrow down the list until a winner is chosen.

So I guess the voting happens 3.5 months into the 4 month competition? Ahh heck I just confused myself.

Heres teh plan

k listen..

As long as you post your monthly updates/stats, you're still in the contest. That's all you have to worry about right now... Now, if you fail to post your updates you're outta the contest no questions asked.

I know it's a big contest and slimming down to 15 will be tough but it's totally doable...

It's a contest, you may think you have won, but it's all about votes, and not everybody is gonna get the best results, some are gonna be more noticable than others..

the way we'll vote for winner is: comparin pics/stats beginning/final, a poll, and we'll use good judgement when it comes to this stuff...

now, for the last contest, nobody was questioning how we were gonna name the winner right? The last contest was bigger, this isn't as big..

we're all winners in the end

Oh ok. See, I was thinking this was monthly voting. The pressure monthly voting would have put on some people (me included) probably would have led to some drastic measures to stay in the race.

So pretty much, through people not updating on time, people dropping out, and other reasons (ban?lol), we should naturally progress from 53 to 15 competitors. And if there are more competitors at the end or something, we'll figure it out then.

Alright. Cheers!

Got an hour of cardio in. I really hate how on the treadmill I need to up my intensity to burn the same amount of calories as I could at a higher body weight, but I knew this was coming. I was jogging at a 5.5 speed for about 20 minutes, then powerwalking the rest, but now I do those first minutes running at 6.0-6.2 speed.

Lately, i've been naturally motivated to put hard work and dedication in the gym and in the kitchen. The Just Do It competition makes me even more motivated. Hope there's a handful of people just as inspired as i am to really kick some ass in this contest.

If i come out on top, its gonna be a major accomplishment for me. Good luck everyone. Anyone down to be a "internet workout" partner? i'm down for an added kick in the ass for myself and for anyone else that needs extra motivation. Hit me up!

voting off is stupid ( i know its been explained already ), cuz some people may be bulking during the first month so when they cut the final 2 months, they'll see more progress with the muscle gain. But yeh, can't wait to see 1st month's progress.

Is it gonna be set up so people have to post their beginning and 1st month progress pix next to each other? Cuz it would be nice to compare progress, but would be a pain to find everyone's starting pix and matching up with current pix. ya dig?

I did mine in MS Paint. Just gotta crop a little. I don't know if there's an online tool for that though.

And yeah, update pics and stats on the 14th of every month.

Whats goin on everyone....today was a pretty uneventful day...took the pooch out for a walk around the park (its a big f'n park here in jersey, about 3.4 miles per "lap") went into work around 2, just got in(very light day, which is fantastic) as far as eating, here's the lowdown..

meal 1 bowl of oats, banana and one table spoon natty pb mixed in with oats
meal 2 protein shake mixed with 2 teaspoons flaxseed
meal 3 tuna out of the bag with a teaspoon spicy mustard, 3 cups lettuce
meal 4 cliff bar(oatmeal crunch)
meal 5 8 oz grilled chicken, steamed asparagus(the benefits of working at a restaurant...free food!!)

i tried to avoid the diet green tea from wawa, and i was almost there until i got home and took a couple of swiggs, but tomorrow is another day. i'm going to be in meetings all day tomorrow so when i get back, if its not too late, i'll hit the gym and report again tomorrow. hope everyone is hanging in there

Today was back day. I'm not a fan of this day. I never feel like my back gets a workout. I feel like my arms do all the work and my back chills there like a big slab of useless meat.

I still feel like a fat piece of crap from the weekend, and I'm still not feeling 100% so I've had to force just barely 1000 cals into me today (that includes the calories from 3 scoops of Purple Wraath to get my butt in the gym to DO WORK). I wonder if advil has any nutritional value, because I took 4 of those to dull the pain in my injured shoulder.

So far in this contest, I = epic fail. I can't wait till next week.

I wonder if advil has any nutritional value, because I took 4 of those to dull the pain in my injured shoulder.

So far in this contest, I = epic fail. I can't wait till next week.
I had the same problem before. Try lowering the weight and focusing on contracting your back muscles. It is not going to wear you out, but you will at least get a burn going. Then slowly increase weight (one week at a time).

I went way low on weight tonight, focused a lot on form. Don't feel much now but I never do thanks to Controlled Labs and the facts that I am much more prone to latent soreness.

My workouts are mainly cardio based with my exercise broken down into 60% cardio & 40% resistance training. I have lost about 2lbs since I started this contest which I am happy with as I have not got what you would call a perfect diet as I take around 1800-2000 calories per day which works out around 40% protein, 50% carbs & 10% fat. I have only done a little resistance training since i started the contest but I am probably losing the weight & hopefully some bodyfat simply from the fact that I am eating alot smarter than before. Although this week I have suffered a setback with my training as I normally always take my dog for a 2-3mile uphill walk each day & I have got a big problem with my groin/inner thigh chafing when I walk or run. Therefore this week I have developed quite painfull sweat rash in the groin area which is making it almost impossible to walk like I havent just crapped myself! lol! I hate sweat rash! hope i clears up soon so I can get back to my training properly! Not planning on winning this competition really but I am hoping that by being involved in it, I will start to improve my diet & training and become more consistent to give myself a good start to living more healthy! I just want to lose some weight & fat before I start university in october & this competition should help my stay motivated! Best of luck guys!

Had a fantastic workout yesterday ... Chest and Tri's, followed by 20 minutes of HIIT on the bike. Doing legs today (Suck at squats, but gotta do 'em). After being absent from the gym last week due to a work event, I plan on pouring it on in this week. I havn't been on the scale lately, but the mirror tells me everything I need to know ... more muscle, less fat. I'm currently taking the following supps:
Animal Pak
Whey Protein
Casein Protein
Fish Oils
Knocking down about 2800 cals per day. August 14th is a long ways away, but be ready for this big fella to be in the running for this contest. Just looking at my Avatar now, and wondering ... who is THAT guy?
If anyone wants to share their leg workout with me before I hit the gym in 4 hours, by all means ... hit me up.

my leg workout consists of 4 sets of squats (10 reps, 10, 8, 6), 3 sets lunges (10, 10, 8), 3 sets leg extensions (10, 10,10) 3 sets hamstring curls (10,10,10) 4 sets calf raises (12,12,12,12) then sometimes an extra calf exercise. Legs are usually thumpin afterwards!

also, deadlifts are great for legs and is probably the best exercise you can do, i just dont do them cuz i hate them haha

Sounds good. I will put it to the test. Legs are great because Squats and Lunges are usually gut busters --added cardio

Going to do shoulders as well.
Clean and Presses
Lateral Dumbell Raises
Front Dumbell Raises
Reverse Bent Over Flys

Bring on the pain!

Yowzers! I am completely spent after a killer Leg/Shoulder workout. Thought I'd share it with you:

Squats 135/12 185/8 205/6 215/4 225/3
Lunges 3 sets 10
Leg extensions 130/12 140/10 150/8 160/5
Standing Calf Raises 3 Sets of 20/15/12/8 with increasing weight

Clean & Presses 95/10 115/8 135/6
Lateral Dumbell Raises 20/12 25/10 30/8
Front Dumbell Raises Same as above ^
Bent over reverse Flys 12/15 20/10 25/8

Diet is clean as a whistle right now. About to gnaw on some Salmon and Broccoli , and take some Casein Protein and TBSP of Natty peanut butter before bed, which would be right now if I didn't have 3 children on summer schedule (Late to bed, late to rise)

Hope everyone is keeping the big picture in mind. It's a journey, not a destination.

Good Luck All!

The girl who inspired and motivated me to change my life has found a boyfriend and wants nothing to do with me now, I feel like crap.

Somehow I was able to find the motivation to go out for a jog midnight last night, I didnt sleep at all, but still went to the gym at noon but had no where near the energy to do my routine i was reduced to 2 sets max instead of my normal 4. Im still very depressed but still somehow finding ways to pick myself and trying to not let this situation ruin my new lifestyle.
