Heavy Training and Eye Problems

I've just recently been getting back to building after my last contest and I've noticed often after a leg workout I get what feels like a stye the next day in one or both of my eyes and it lasts a good week. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has a clue what it is. This only seems to happen to me when I'm in a building phase. Weird.

Whilst I've never had that problem, I have had my eye twitch. Both are caused from strain.

Make sure you are breathing through the whole exercise - if your holding your breathe you are putting pressure on your eyes and this causes all sorts of things to happen.

My old PT once watched a friend of his do a heavy chest press, on the way up he was pushing so hard that a blood vessel popped in his eye causing the whole eye to go instant red.

Thanks for your input. I had a feeling it has to do with my breathing. I can't seem to help but hold my breath for a split second at the bottom of big leg movements. I'll have to work on this.

I agree with Mindi too. One thing that helps me is really focusing on the muscles being worked. While I like the indirect ab work, I don't want to end up with a hernia either. So I focus on relaxing my abs and just using my legs on most exercises. Squats excluded. But I won't hold my breath on those.
